ISC reported that bloody clash at ward 5 of Gohardasht Prison in Karaj has led to injury of 20 prisoners the condition of 8 being critical.
On Friday Jan. 7 around 9 am a group of prison gangs in ward 5 who were motivated by Gerami, prison’s director; Torabi, the head of inspection of the prison and Faraji, the deputy of intelligence of the prison attacked with knife and other dangerous weapons to prisoners of saloon 13 of the ward and injured them.
In this bloody attack more than 20 were injured; the wounds of 8 of them are very deep and dangerous. None of them have been transferred to prison’s infirmary.
The names of some of the injured prisoners are: Mahmoud Karimi, Naser Ghochanlou, Taghi Jayrun, Ali Hasanifar, Ahmad Bahramian, Shahram Riazi and Aghili.
After this attack prison’s guards attacked these prisoners too and beat them though they have been already injured. The guards destroyed their belongings and transferred some of them to solitary cells.
The names of some of those transferred to solitary cells are: Hadi Bandlou, Mohammad Ali Aghili and Mehran Karimi.
The prison’s gangs are the elements of selling narcotics inside prison and suppressing prisoners who protest against the unbearable conditions of the prison.
The gang of ward 5 is supported by two officers of the prison called Mohammadi and Sarzaeem.
These two provide the gang with narcotics.
Miserable condition of laborers after subsidy cuts

Iran Docharkh Factory produces motors and has about 800 laborers; after the subsidy cuts as the prices have risen several times, the laborers of this factory say that they cannot even buy mere bread. They go to work without taking anything to eat with them. One of the workers said: “all goods have become expensive several times but our wages have not changed. How can we manage with a wage of 350,000 tomans when a piece of bread is 650 tomnas? How many days can we live like this? Don’t they understand that a laborer will not be able to live like this?
Subsidy cuts might close Tehran’s metro

Following the subsidy cuts Mohsen Hashemi general director of Tehran’s metro said: “as the cost of electricity has risen 5 times, if the government and the municipality don’t help the metro will be closed”.
He added: “of course the parliament must question the government why it doesn’t follow the law and pay the metro’s budget…”
About metro’s expenses and in regard with subsidy cuts he pointed: “this law will effect construction and exploitation of metro… we have estimated that with subsidy cuts metro expenses will rise 20 to 30 percent…the government has suggested no tariff for helping the metro”.
