PMOI supporters brutally tortured in prison

Political prisoner Afshin Baymani was harassed and violently abused on October 3 and was thrown in a solitary cell in cellblock 1 known as the ‘doghouse’ because he protested the violent treatment of prisoners by the head and assistant head of the Intelligence Unit in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj.
Kermani and Faraji, the head and assistant head of this prison’s Intelligence Unit along with head guard Mirza Aqayi and another guard named Zinali took Baymani to the torture room with shackles and physically tortured him for a long period of time with batons, electric batons, and shockers. Ali Mohammad, the assistant head of this prison who was also involved in the 1988 massacre of political prisoners also mentally tortured this political prisoner. After this violent torture, Baymani was taken to a cell with intolerable conditions.
The guards did not let Baymani bring any personal belonging or clothes with him and since his transfer to this cell, he has only had the clothes on his back. Prison guards have also lowered his food rations and limited the number of times he is allowed to use the restroom to 3 times in 24 hours. Guards only answer with batons to the protests of this political prisoner…
This political prisoner was arrested in 2000 when he was travelling with his brother in Khuzestan. When they stopped at a checkpoint, security forces opened fire on them. His brother, Mehdi Baymani died on the spot and Afshin was injured. He was then detained and taken to prison. His pregnant wife was then arrested and kept in detention for a long time. This political prisoner was initially sentenced to death because he and his brother were supporters of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran but after international protests, the death sentence was lowered to prison time.

Isfahan head of SSF: female cyclers are criminals

The head of the State Security Forces in Isfahan said that female cyclers, card playing in parks, women playing volleyball or skating and singing next to the Khajou Bridge are all evident crimes.
“The police will deal harshly with the law breakers”, he added.
The head of the SSF stressed that police patrols are active in the city to control transgressions and said, “We have to control crimes by increasing patrols and police stations and separating the 110 patrol from the Prevention Police”.

Jailed female student banned from visiting jailed brother

On Monday, the officials of Rajayi Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison in Karaj where student activist Shabnam Madadzadeh is jailed banned her and her brother who is also jailed in this prison from seeing each other.
According to reports, prison officials summoned Farzad Madadzadeh for an internal prison visit with his sister which usually takes place on Mondays but then cancelled the visit for unknown reasons.
Shabnam who was the political secretary of the Tehran Teacher Training University Student Association and her brother have been sentenced to five years of prison to be served in Rajayi Shahr Prison. A short time before this, in an illegal order by Ali Mohammadi, the assistant head of this prison, Shabnam was banned from all visits and telephone calls. These two political prisoners have not been allowed to use their right to a leave from prison since their arrest.
Shabnam and Farzad were arrested in March 2009 and after a year of temporary detention were finally sentenced to five years of prison to be served in Rajayi Shahr Prison by the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Mohammad Moqiseh who is known for issuing heavy sentences for political activists.

Intelligence agency refuses to release acquitted political prisoner

According to reports, political prisoner Teimour Rezayian is still in detention two weeks after he was cleared of all charges and his release sentence was issued by a court of review.
This 50 year old political prisoner was acquitted two weeks ago in a court of review and was only sentenced to pay a 300,000 toman fine for having a satellite receiver in his home. But interrogators of the Intelligence Agency refuse to release him and are trying to keep him in detention under false pretexts.
Rezayian, who was a political prisoners in the 80’s, was arrested on February 7 when he was taken to a solitary cell in cellblock 209 In Evin Prison. After a few months he was transferred to cellblock 350 in this prison.
Rezayian was sentenced to 3 years of prison in a show trial on August 9 but was then cleared in a court of review. He was under torture in prison while innocent for close to year but despite all the pressures, they still refuse to release him.

Iran lashes 4 men in public

The flogging sentence for four men was carried out on Monday, October 17 in the Central Square of Gonbad Kavous.
According the Kayhan state-run daily these men were Mehdi A., Ehsan R., Abdolaziz A., and Mojtaba Q. who were each sentenced to 74 lashed in public on charges of ‘disrupting public order, harassing people and citizens, intentional attacks with knives and destroying stores’. Iran throws ‘secular’ minded professors out of free universities

The assistant head of the Free University said that a number of the members of the Science Committee of the Free University who have been proven to be secular minded have been identified and expelled.
“These members of the Science Committee who we had reports of were given notices but when they did not change (their attitude), we asked them to leave”, he said. (Mehr state-run News Agency)

Khamenei goes to Qom simultaneous with anniversary of 2,500 years festival of Shah

A website run by the minority faction of the Iranian regime wrote about Khamenei’s trip to Qom and said, “Khamenei’s show is simultaneous with the anniversary of the 2,500 year festival of the Shah in October 1971 by Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and it seems that history is repeating itself. This time in 2010 instead of Pasargadae (the scene of the show) is the holy city of Qom”.
This source wrote that group work was carried out for planning and coordination from months ago and the group work started its work led by Mojtaba Khamenei (Khamenei son) with the approval of Khamenei.

He said: we have to consider the atmosphere which is between the youths.
The previous internal minister of the regime expressed his worry and added: some times in a society feeling against the present situation, is formed which is only making the society black; we should not give this chance to these riots.

People in fear of backwashed of cancellation of taxes have started to store stuffs

Tehran - According to news and reports, anyone who has money especially food sellers, have started to by stuffs and store them till the taxes have been taken and prices will increase, then they can sell them in higher price. Ordinary people are also trying to store foods so they will not buy them in higher price. They buy rice, flour and … Anybody who has cash is changing them to gold. People are extracting their money from banks. Everything, economy, policy and the spirit of people have been mixed.

Fear of Mullahs from the new combination of Security Council

Secluded Mullah’s regime, expressed his fear of the new combination of Security Council, and in one its site, titled new combination of Security Council and the nuclear problem of Iran, wrote: end of the temporary membership of Turkey and replacement of Portugal, could be an important matter for Iran. Turkey in Security Council used to stabilize the atmosphere of anti-regime in council and declare its disagreement on resolution 1929 in Security Council of UN. Replacement of Portugal instead of Turkey which is a member of European Union and cannot defend Iran’s position in Security Council is not acceptable for Iran.

According to reports, clashes have risen up between Ahmadinejad and Rafsanjani on possessing lands of international exhibition of Tehran. Changing the place of exhibition is a result of these clashes.
Also on the assets of Iranian companies belonging the regime in Malasia there are clashes between officials of the regime, AsgarOladi and Rafighdost have clashes with each other.

Ahmad Tavakoli asked for Ahmadinejad presence in parliament

The head of research commission of parliament called for Ahamdinejad’s presence. He said: unfortunately this matter has become so hard that if you want to ask a question from president, it is very bad.
In my beliefs president should answer all the questions every month in parliament. Parliament has this authority to stop the president and vote for his mal qualified career. President cannot complain against the parliament and cannot order for parliament breakup.

Youths and active students of Tehran in Salsabil, Imam Hossein square, RahAhan, Javadiyeh and Yaghchiabad of Tehran, by writing slogans against Khamenei and in support of international sanctions for 7th of December called upon the residents of these areas. Some of the slogans written on the walls included: “down with Khamenei”, “Khamenei be ready 7th of December is coming”, “the one who is frightened is supreme leader not the people, our promise is on 7th of December”.

Security agent killed in armed clash in Zahedan

In an armed clash in the town of Zahedan, a state security force agent was killed and four others were injured.
Abdollahi, the assistant head of Security in Iran said, “This attack took place on Friday evening in the path of a security forces between Khash and Zahedan. In this attack, a SSF employee was killed and four others were injured”.

Jailed female lawyer tortured in interrogations

According to reports, jailed lawyer Nasrin Sutodeh who is on hunger strike has been subjected to torture by intelligence interrogators.
Reports from the notorious cellblock 209 in Evin Prison say that these tortures are so severe that her cries can be heard in the middle of the night in the whole cellblock. Hearing her cries has also subjected other female political prisoners to great suffering and agony. Her cries are heard almost every night in the cellblock.
Nasrin Sutodeh was arrested on September 4 for defending her clients in the framework of existing laws in Iran and protesting illegal measures by the intelligence agency and those who work as judges.

Violation of Human Rights: Iran hangs two people in Ahwaz

The execution sentence of two persons was carried out in Karoun Prison in Ahwaz.
According to Fars News Agency the Khuzestan Judiciary announced that K.Sh and M.Kh were sentenced to death. Both their sentences were confirmed by the prosecutor.
H.D was also sentenced to death by the 17th branch of the Khuzestan Penal Court. This sentence was also confirmed by the Supreme Court. (Fars state-run News)

Security forces violently attack and arrest five people in Marivan

Agents of the Inteligence agency attacked the homes of villagers in the village of Ney in Marivan and arrested five people. They were taken to an unknown location. Keivan Nikpey, Jamal Parvazeh, Farzad Badakhsh, Qane Kaveh and Zana Kasrayi were among the detainees.

Iranian-Dutch woman thrown in solitary for forced confession

According to reports, political prisoner Zahra Bahrami who was arrested in post election protests on Ashura (December 27, 2009) was transferred to a solitary cell in cellblock 209 in Evin Prison. She was thrown in solitary for refusing to repeat the confessions she was tortured into making in a show trial headed by Judge Salavati and for refusing to force her daughter not to disclose the pressure and abuse and false accusations made against her mother.
Bahrami is under severe pressure by intelligence agents to confess to the charges made against her by the court. They have threatened that if she does not confess, she will be trialed for waging war with God and sentenced to death.
Bahrami is suffering from a severe heart condition which she did not have before.
This 45 year old political prisoner is a mother of two and has dual Dutch-Iranian nationality. She came to Iran to see her child and was arrested in the Ashura protests. She was then mentally and physically tortured while detained. Intelligence interrogators in the Sepah Cellblock in Gohardasht Prison and in cellblock 209 in Evin Prison have put her under severe pressure and torture and forced her into giving televised confessions against herself which was broadcasted from state-run TV. Bahrami has been detained in cellblock 209 for close to 11 months.

Political prisoner sentenced to five years of prison

Mohammad Banazadeh Amir Khizi (PMOI Supporter) was sentenced to five years of prison to be served in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj by the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court headed by Judge Salavati.
He was tried on September 26. His court was postponed four times before this. He was tried without his lawyer, Alireza Tabatabayi.
Mohammad Banazadeh Amirkhizi, 63, was arrested in his place of work on November 30, 2009 after an attacked by agent of the Intelligence Agency. He was transferred to cellblock 209 in Evin Prison. His wife, Shahla Zarin was sentenced to one year of prison for visiting her child in Camp Ashraf. She was released after serving her time.
Currently his sister Kobra Banazadeh Amirkhizi is jailed for intending to visit her children in Camp Ashraf. Before this, his brothers Asghar and Hamid Banazadeh were also sentenced to two years of prison for visiting their children in the camp and were released some time ago after they served their sentence.
Mohammad Banazadeh is currently detained in cellblock 240 in Evin and despite receiving his sentence has not been transferred to a public cellblock.

Jailed dissident cleric beaten in prison

Yesterday evening the head of the Special Cellblock for Clerics in Evin Prison verbally abused and insulted Mr. Borujerdi once again and struck him with a baton.
According to reports, a prisoner has reported that this violent measure was carried out against Borujerdi because he had constantly protested the violation of the minimum rights of prisoners.
He had protested the lack of medical facilities, the banning of visits and the transfer of a large number of drug addicts to this cellblock a number of times in the past two weeks and wrote several letters to Evin Prison officials and Qadiani, the Special Prosecutor of Clerics.
Evin Prison officials claim that the Special Cellblock for Clerics is under the direct supervision of the Intelligence Agency and the Special Prosecutor for Clerics.

Security forces shoot and kill young man in Iranshahr

A 26 year old man identified as Abdolrahim Kanbarzehi (Qanbarzehi) was killed in the Gharib Abad region in Iranshahr by the SSF ‘Relief Unit’.
According to eyewitness reports, security forces stopped his car and violently pulled him out of his vehicle while beating him. It seems that he shielded himself from the beatings by hugging a security agent. When these agents saw that they had not been able to arrest him after 10 minutes of beatings, an agent shot him in the back.
Despite seeing his condition and that he needed to be taken to hospital because of his open wound, they refused to take him to hospital and banned others on the scene from taking him to the hospital.  After about 6 hours, Abdolrahim died on the scene in front of the security forces because he was not given medical treatment.

Wife of jailed lawyer banned from talking to husband in hospital; attacked by plainclothes agent

Mohammad Oliayi Fard, a jailed lawyer and legal consultant of the Student Committee in Defense of Political Prisoners who was taken to a hospital outside of prison today because of his deteriorating physical condition was mistreated and harassed by a plainclothes agent.
According to reports, this agent who had entered the hospital with a gun clashed with Oliayi Fard’s family who intended to see him and insulted and mistreated them.
Oliayi Fard’s wife intended to talk to her husband when she saw him in the hospital but the above mentioned agent verbally abused her and then attacked her with the gun in his hand. When Oliayi Fard tried to defend his wife, he was also attacked. The hospital’s Protection Department unarmed the plainclothes agents after seeing this scene and then transferred Oliayi Fard back to prison…
There is a high chance that Oliayi Fard has cancer because a tumor was found in his body. He was sentenced to one year of prison by Judge Pir Abbas in the 26th branch of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.

Iran takes 15 year son of labor activist hostage as ransom for father’s arrest

According to reports, labor activist Gholamreza Gholam Hosseini was forced to leave his home after agents of the ministry of intelligence raided his home in his absence.
On Monday October 11, at about 9 am intelligence agents raided the home of Gholam Hosseini in Karaj intending to arrest him but he was not home.
These agents then took his 15 year old son hostage until 8 pm. In this time, they threatened and interrogated 15-year old Amir. In calls to Gholam Hosseini’s wife, they said that she had to turn her husband in for her son’s release.
These agents searched his home for a long time and then confiscated his computer, legal documents, telephone book, books, CDs and other things…
Gholamreza Gholam Hosseini, 44, was arrested in 2005 during the strike of bus drivers of the Vahed Bus Company in Tehran and was subsequently suspended from work for 4 years. About 8 months ago he went back to work but on July 24 he was once again suspended under baseless pretexts.

Intelligence agents threaten jailed labor activist’s daughter in law to death

According to reports, the threats and mental abuse of the intelligence agency against Zoya Samadi, the daughter in law of detained labor activist Mansour Osalu has increased in the past few weeks.
Intelligence interrogators constantly call Zoya Samadi and blatantly threaten her to death. These threats have increased in the past few weeks.
“You experienced what we did last time. You can be sure that this time you will not live through it”, they tell her over the phone.
Some time ago, intelligence agents in a car and two motorcycles went to the home of Mrs. Samadi and her husband in their absence and relayed their threats through their neighbors. This psychological and inhumane war is going on daily against this family.
Intelligence interrogators aim to increase the mental pressure on Osalu’s family and especially Mr. Osalu.
Zoya Samadi was abducted before this by intelligence agents and was violently tortured and beaten. She sustained serious physical and mental injuries as a result which she is still suffering from. Samadi was forced to quit her job after her abduction to stay at home for treatment.

SSF: watching satellite channels is like using narcotics

The assistant head on Social Affairs of the State Security Forces, Bahman Kargar, stressed in a news conference that buying and selling satellite equipment is illegal and said, “Satellite equipment is considered a crime like narcotics”.
“Narcotics endangers the mental and physical health of people while satellite (channels) leads to vulgarity, licentious behavior and destroys families therefore they are both equally dangerous”, he said.
The assistant social head of the State Security Forces said that satellites are an example of the ‘soft war’ and stressed that the SSF would seriously deal with the buying and selling of satellite equipment.

Imprisonment of 11000 people in central prison of Mashad with capacity of 2500people

Zoghi the criminal judge of Mashad confessed about the intractable arrests and said: imprisonment of 11000 people in central prison of Mashad, with capacity of 2500 people shows our decisive action of our Judiciary system.
He added among a group of reporters: Adding 4000 prisoners to this prison in the last few months shows our growing strikes with those who are convicted and are the elements of disturbing the discipline and public security.
