The deputy speaker of the Majlis (parliament) Security and Foreign Policy Committee, ‎Heshmatollah Falahatpisheh , said, “The US is acting as the instigator, imposing additional ‎sanctions and compelling the Europeans to impose their own sanctions on top of (UN) ‎resolutions, in order to build an anti-Iran culture and prepare other countries for future ‎resolutions against Iran.”‎
Expressing worries about the outcome of Washington’s initiative, he added, “The US is ‎trying to preserve the psychological ambiance characterized by sanctions against Iran and ‎to raise issues that would prompt more sanctions against the country.”‎

Political prisoners exiled in a bid to increase pressure on them
Oct. 6, 2010
The inhumane clerical regime has transferred a number of political prisoners to prisons with even worse conditions in order to intensify torture and exert more pressures on them.
Political prisoner Maryam Akbari Monfared was abruptly exiled to Gohardasht Prison on Sunday, September 26, even as the Women’s Ward at the prison is already highly overcrowded, and due to a lack of medical and other basic resources, the prison is in dreadful conditions. Deprived of a possibility to sleep at nights, the prisoners spend nights awake in their wards.
Ms. Akbari, 36, is the mother of three young children, and is being held on fabricated charges as a “mohareb” (enemy of God).
She has been sentenced to 15 years at Gohardasht Prison. During a show trial, she contested the sentence and described the judge as incompetent. The mullahs’ judge, Salamati, said she is charged with having relatives at Camp Ashraf, who are members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), and because some of her relatives have been executed for supporting the PMOI.
Two members of Ms. Akbari’s family, Alireza, 20, and Gholamreza, 26,  were executed in 1981 and 1985, respectively, while two of her other relatives, Roqieh, 30, and Abdolreza, 23, were executed during the 1988 massacre of political prisoners by the clerical regime.
Political prisoner Hamid Haeri, 60, who suffers from a variety of health problems as a result of being tortured and imprisoned, has also been exiled to Gohardasht Prison. Mr. Haeri suffers from various ailments, including a heart condition and has survived two strokes. He has been sentenced to 15 years in prison because his son and brother are residents in Camp Ashraf.
Hadi Qaemi, who was arrested during the December 27, 2009 Ashura uprising, has also been sentenced to 15 years in prison, and has been exiled to Gorgan’s Minoudasht Prison.
Other exiled political prisoners in recent days include Majid Tavakoli, who has been transferred to Gohardasht Prison, and Zia Nabavi and Majid Dorri, who were sent to the notorious Karoun Prison in Ahvaz.

RGC heads register old property under name of relatives in fear of property seizure
Oct. 6, 2010
According to reports from the Iranian Ministry of Wealth, the state of this ministry is messy like other ministries.  An official in this ministry said that many RGC officials who have large property are trying to register their estates under the name of their relations who they trust so that if things get messy, their properties are not seized. This person who works with the registering books gets money from RGC commanders to solve this issue for them.
Because of the plundering of RGC heads, the body of this force is dissatisfied and many of them defy orders. Many of them talk about the mansions and other estates that these officials have and express dissent.

Report on social atmosphere in Tehran
Oct. 6, 2010
According to reports from eyewitnesses, despite severe suppression by the Iranian regime, the people who are faced with this suppression are very aggressive with regime forces. The people are not afraid anymore and regime forces can do nothing about it and are on the defensive. Regime forces have even been forced to lower the arrests over social issues and improper veiling compared to a few months ago. Regime forces would rather not clash with people. On the other hand, problems and pressures on the people have led them to not follow rules and regulations.
Three weeks ago, traffic police stopped a motorcycle driver for not stopping for a red light. The biker parked his motorcycle and beat the police officer.
The security conditions are very bad and women and girls cannot be out after 10 or 11 pm. They are not safe from being stabbed, kidnapped or taken hostage for money.
Despite the serious pressure of raising prices, people say that they are willing to tolerate the pressures because of the sanctions to get rid of the regime. The realty business is still stagnant. Despite the fact that the price of property has almost decreased by half, people still do not buy any property.
In government offices, about 90 percent of employees take bribes to make a living. Without this, they cannot make a living and people’s problems will not be solved. Addiction is also a major problem and the Iranian regime actually encourages this with various methods.

Oct. 6, 2010

Meanwhile military commanders on the information and analysis say that the attack is serious.
He said, Sepah(pasdaran guard) was active in protecting the supreme leader and from the first day were active in political field. They were active for electing first president of the regime, Banisadr. He said, yes we did propaganda for his presidential. Mr. Banisadr was our candidate. Therefore, what they said about Sepah (pasdaran guard) that they have become political, it is not right because from the first day if the  Sepah didn’t enter political field, we wouldn’t called them Guards Corps.

Head of Iran judiciary terrified over black listing of 8 Iranian human rights violators
Oct. 4, 2010
Sadeq Larijani, the head of Iran’s Judiciary expressed his anger over the listing of eight regime officials in the US sanction list and said, “In a county like America, which claims to be a champion of human rights, the president who is in charge of executive issues in a country easily issues sentences against people in another government. People who have not been tried, no discussions have been made and nothing has been discovered (about them) and they just issue sentences unilaterally. This shows that judicial issues are entangled with politics over there (in the US)”.

Iranians flock to buy foreign currency after value of dollar raises in Iran
Oct. 4, 2010
The Mehr News Agency (State-Run) announced that people have flocked to the banks in Iran to buy dollars. According to this state-run news agency, on the early morning of October 13, people were waiting in long lines to buy foreign currency. According to the Fars News Agency, the crowds were so large outside the Meli and Melat Banks that lines of people stretched out and covered a number of streets.
Mehr News Agency: Despite the fact that officials of the Central and Meli Banks have announced that people can buy foreign currency without any limitations, government officials have said that people should not hurry into buying foreign currency because they might run into problems.
Fars: After the Central Bank entered the scene to control the currency market and exchange centers at the Meli and Melat Banks announced their rates at 1,078 tomans, people were willing to stand in line for a few hours in the Meli and Melat Banks rather than go to exchange centers who are asking for higher prices or have not announced their rates.
ILNA: Asked if Turkey would fill the place of Dubai for transferring currency to Iran, the head of the Meli Bank said “Tehran will not announce its methods”.
When ILNA’s reporter asked if the source of the problems in the currency market were related to the sanctions, Mahmoud Khavari said in anger to the reporter, “What are you after? What do you want to know? The world is looking to do business with Iran. And the price of the gold coin is on the rise”.

After a bill was passed by Ahmadinejad’s cabinet for the transfer of government employees to towns outside of Tehran, about 10 percent of nurses have been transferred to other towns.

“Every day we are witnessing that the condition of our treatment services in the hospital becomes more critical… for every bed, there are 0.6 nurse employees and we need more nurses for special wards”. He said that the lack of nurses was because of the Iranian regime’s lack of attention to the nurse system, the faulty human forces structure which has been the same for 40 years, and the very low wages of nurses.
“The transfer of Tehran nurses to other towns has led to an increase of pressure on other nurses who have led to nurses leaving work and a crisis currently exists in Tehran hospitals”.
“With the transfer of nurses, forced over times has increased. For example currently in the Khomeini Hospital, every ward which holds about 15 patients is run by an inexperienced nurse”, he added.

“Following two days of silence, the Central Bank is constantly giving promises to the people after the dollar went up to 1,200 tomans that it will lower the value of the dollar to 106 tomans until the end of the week”, this website said.

Until yesterday, prisoners were able to use a tanker to provide water for the restroom but this tanker also ran out of water yesterday and prison officials have only said that the ‘tanker has a leak’ in answer to protests from prisoners…
Because of the lack of water, prisoners are suffering from various stomach, kidney, skin and infectious diseases.
A number of drug addicts and homeless women who were brought to prison in the last four days were admitted to prison without the usual mandatory shower and cleansing, therefore lice has also increased among the women.
Also because the dishes were not washed in the past few days, in addition to the bad smell that the unwashed dishes have caused, prisoners are not able to eat food.
Since a number of women are jailed with their children and infants and toddlers have to be washed more frequently, the lack of water for the daily cleaning of babies has endangered their health and has made the bad smell of the female cellblock more unbearable.

Oct. 1, 2010
Yesterday in a court session, singer Aria Aramnejad read out his defense detailing some of what he endured in his time in prison including mental and physical torture by prison agents…
This young singer and musician was arrested in Babol on February 15, 2010 for singing a song named “Ali Barkhiz (Ali Standup)”. He spent two months of his detention in a solitary cell…
“I was arrested on February 15, 2010 after intelligence agents raided my home. They terrorized us and ransacked our home and did not even spare our bedroom. All of this was because of a song that was deemed a danger to national security by the gentlemen!!!!! After that, I was under mental and physical torture for 44 days in a solitary cell and I will detail for the judges on how humanely I was treated by the agents there:
1- I was insulted [by agents] and my personality was crushed with profane language and even ridiculing my appearance.
2- I was terrorized with threats that my wife, who was not involved in any political activities or in my activities, would be arrested.
3- My brother [who has been injured in the Iran-Iraq war] was insulted and I was threatened that they would arrest him if I did not cooperate.
4- I was threatened to death by the Intelligence Agency guard (he would say: I am an intelligent agent and I can easily kill you with a bullet outside of the agency and I will not be prosecuted for it.)
5- I was threatened to death by Mati Kalay Prison officials.
6- I was kept in a 1.5 by 2 meter cell without the minimum sanitary facilities and it reached the point that after some time my whole body was filled with infected pimples.
7- {Prison officials} intentionally deprived me of my medicine for my heart condition.
8- I was in a cell next to a HIV positive inmate and I was forced to walk barefoot on his blood which was on the ground because he had tried to commit suicide.
9- I was given offensive, perverse and incorrect information about my wife.
10- I was stripped under the excuse of a body search while an agent had a camera in his hand. After I constantly protested he smirked at me and said ‘Are you afraid?’
11- After I requested to see my doctor, I was brutally beaten by an agent in the Mati Kalay Prison to the extent that the signs were evident on my body for a long time afterwards.
12- My hands and feet were chained for a long time in Mati Kalay Prison.
These are just small examples of what I endured in my time in detention.
