Aftermaths of Subsidy Cuts

Reports from within regime’s organs:
Tehran, Jan. 2, 2011
- The Central Bank has reported: “during the first day of subsidy cuts, more than 10% of the deposited money, substitutes for subsidy cuts, has been withdrawn from the banks. Entrance of this amount of cash in the society will cause inflation and is a serious threat for the goals of this plan. It will turn to a great social-economic crisis. In Tehran’s and other cities’ Baazar there is not enough food and people are referring to whole-sellers”.
- Ministry of Road & Transportation reported to the Subsidy Headquarters: “transportation is very slow throughout Iran right now. Transportation of goods from their entrances towards Tehran and centers of other provinces is disrupted. Bandar Abbas custom’s bureaucracy and stores are out of their normal order because the goods are not evacuated from the stores. The cost for transportation of goods has risen more than 3 times…Truck Union is about to announce national strike. The ministry of intelligence has threatened some of the officials of the union to prevent this strike”.
- In a report sent to Tehran’s Municipality it is said that Tehran’s Taxi-Drivers Union has threatened that it will hold a national strike. This threat has made regime’s officials worried.

Sky rising prices

The execution of ‘Subsidy Overhaul Plan’ and unbelievable rise in prices of necessary goods is putting a lot of pressure on people.
The rate of bread announced by the regime shows double to triple rise in its price:
- Lavash Bread from 35 to 100 tomans per piece
- Tafton Bread from 90 to 200 tomans per piece
- Barbari Bread from 100 or 150 to 300 tomans per piece
- Sangak Bread from 170 to 400 or 7oo tomans per piece
And these prices are for low quality bread.
The price of each kg of flour has reached from 7.5 to 350 tomans. Many people are not even able to buy bread.
Taxi rates have risen twice or three times on one hand and on the other hand taxi drivers are protesting the announced rates and are sitting-in, for example in Hamedan.

Truck loads are rotten at Bandar Abbas; fuel price too high

There are many trucks in Bandar Abbas that are just parked and their contents are rotting because the price of fuel is too high. Before subsidy cuts they had to pay 50000 tomans for gas oil per round trip but now it costs 250000 and many of truck owners are not able to pay such great amount of money.

Taxi drivers protest in Hamedan

In protest against the announced taxi rate Hamedan Taxi drivers protested in front of the Governor’s Office. They said that this rate will not compensate for the fuel cost and all their income goes for the fuel.

Hadieh Safahan textile factory almost close
Tehran, Dec. 31, 2010
This factory is closing and dismissing its workers. During last week six other of its laborers were dismissed.
One of the laborers said that this factory has 25 weaving machines but due to the current crisis only 7 of these machines can work.
He added that the two parameters causing problem for them is that firstly they cannot sell their products because all bazaars are filled with imported Chinese fabrics and then they are not receiving the raw material needed.

Following subsidy cuts, flower houses are being destroyed

As the result of subsidy cuts and raise in price of gas oil, flower houses are almost completely in crisis such as other guilds.
Flower houses use 2000 liter of gas oil per day per each 100 m2 and after the subsidy cuts they are not able to provide the fuel. The government is doing nothing in that regard.

Bread gets even more expensive

In Ekbatan Complexes in Tehran, Sangak Bread is now 700 tomans per piece and people are complaining about that. They say that they had reported this but the government has taken no action.

Tehran’s Pars Metal laborers on strike and protest

On Wednesday Dec. 29 the laborers of Pars Metal Factory held a protest sit-in.
One of the laborers said: “it is for a month that the factory owes 1,300,000 tomans debt to the Electricity Enterprise so the electricity is cut and there is no production. Before the electricity was cut 397 laborers worked here, 140 of them were temporary workers.
You must know that we have only received two months of our wages since the beginning of the new year (March 31, 2010)”.
He emphasized that the laborers livelihood is in terrible condition and 2 of these workers are now at prison because of this…”


Downfall

Regime’s head of Gymnastic Federation is ousted
Tehran, Jan. 2, 2011
State-run sites announced that Ahmad Mohtashami the head of regime’s Gymnastic Federation is ousted.
He called this act: “the worst behavior and far from humane and Islamic moral”.
Regime’s Mehr news agency quoted Mohtashami: “on Saturday night during a session to inspect the doings of the federation I represented a report about the results of National Team. There was no word then of my dismissal and then the day after I heard from the media that I was ousted”.

Nightmare of downfall

At the first anniversary of Ashura Uprising some of regime’s officials admitted that the aim of that uprising was toppling the regime and added that the ‘sedition’ (what they call the uprisings) is not over yet.
Pasdar (IRGC member) Asoodi, IRGC’s deputy of Culture and Advertising of IRGC expressed this fear as: “last years sedition was not a crisis it was a thorough war…some said that the Establishment is done with on June 13, 14 and 15.
Safar Harandi the former Minister of Guidance of Ahmadinejad’s government reminded the nightmare of regime’s overthrowing and said: “the rioters started swearing at and then when their number raised they attacked a Bassij base…On Students Day they passed the line and offended pictures of Imam (Khomeini) and the leadership (Khamenei)…They wanted to overthrow the Establishment.

Hadad Adel: they didn’t oppose the election they opposed the Establishment and Imam

In an exclusive at regime’s TV on Dec. 30th Hadad Adel talked about the uprising after last year’s election: “they took into the streets not only one or two days… they stepped forward even further and spoke of opposing the constitution…after a while it wasn’t about the election, fraud and presidency they spoke of opposing the Revolution itself and the Imam himself…
On Qods Day they took into the streets chanting ‘neither Gaza nor Lebanon (I will sacrifice my life for Iran)’ while the Qods Day is appointed by Imam…
Around my home there were some houses that its inhabitants chanted Allah O Akbar at nights. Nobody did anything about that…”

Mullah Moslehi: 18 billion dollars for toppling the Establishment

On Thursday Dec. 30 Mullah Haydar Moslehi, clerical regime’s Minister of Intelligence claimed in Ray Township that 17 billion and 700 million dollars has been dedicated for regime being overthrown.
IRNA state-run news agency counted the deep disputes of those inside the Establishment as the main factor of ‘sedition’ and said: “…we must truly investigate about those personalities who claim that they are with the revolution and the Establishment”.

Bijan Nobaveh a regime’s MP claimed shamelessly: “I am informed about the world’s media very well and I study them. I believe that there is no other country that is in higher rank than Iran for freedom of speech. This freedom is so much that sometimes it turns to anarchism and illegality. We leave in the country of Imam Zaman (the last Imam of Shiites) and we are too much tolerant”.

The notorious intelligence agents killed one in Baloochistan
Baloochistan, Dec. 31, 2010
The notorious agents of regime’s Intelligence Ministry besieged Kohnook Genijan Dep Village in Baloochistan, in Kohoon region and started searching the houses and offending the villagers. The villagers protested against the act and were consequently shot at by the agents. Accordingly one of the villagers called Shahibak was killed by 3 bullets and his younger brother, Molavi Khalid was arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

4 execution decrees in Kerman
Kerman, Dec. 31, 2010
Regime’s judiciary issued four decrees of execution in Kerman.
Dadkhoda Salari the head of branch one of regime’s so-called Revolutionary Court in Kerman said that the decrees are sent for approval of the General Prosecutors Office.

Students summoned on the excuse of improper veil
Tehran, Dec. 30, 2010
The Disciplinary Committee of Science & Industry University summoned some of female students of this university on the excuse of ‘improper veil’ to provoke and atmosphere of fear and horror.
During recent days Harasat agents have harassed female students on this excuse and Bassiji elements of the university have threatened them and sometimes even clashed with them.

Fire at Gohardasht Prison

On last Wednesday the prison shop in ward 4 of Karaj’s Gohardasht Prison was torched and a thick smoke covered the ward. The reason is not known yet.

Employees of Damghan schools gathered in protest
Tehran, Jan. 1, 2011
The employees of schools in Damghan gathered in protest in front of the cities Education Bureau. These employees have not received three months wages for their over time work.
