URGENT NEWS ON IRAN - JUNE 14, 2010 - Anniversary of June Uprising


Tehran- June 14, 2010

- At 1500 students of Tehran University gathered in protest in front of Engineering Department to commemorate the raid at Tehran University’s dormitory June 14 of last year (in which 5 students were killed 300 were arrested and too many were wounded). Harasat is lining in front of the students and intends to attack them.
Students are holding the pictures and scenes of the attack and are chanting anti regime slogans.

- At 1530 numerous Plainclothes are standing by the main door of the university. They are being deployed there by bus. Plainclothes are also deployed inside the university. Security atmosphere is strangling. Number of students is about 500.

- At 1530 some Students tried to move towards the entrance in Amirabad St. to join the protesting group but the agents have closed the door and are preventing students to enter. The high number of plainclothes is noticeable.

- At 1530 the number of students in front of Engineering Department is more than 500. Students are chanting ‘death to Khamenei’.

- Harasat and Bassijies are fully covering Meli University (Beheshti University) and surveillance cameras are controlling the students.

- Behzad Haidari a former member of Islamic Association of Amir Kabir University and a students of Ship-Construction Engineering who participated in protests on June 12 around Enghelab Square is arrested and there is no news of him so far. He was participating in the protest with some of his friends. They were raided at by Especial Guards forces but he couldn’t escape.

- Families of detainees of June 12th Uprising gathered in front of Evin Prison in protest on June 12 and today demanding a clear status of their beloveds. In the list of the detainees only a few names is seen. The record of those whose name is in the list is referred to the kangaroo court of so-called Revolutionary Court.
