Supplementary reports from students’ protests and clashes in Meli (Beheshti) University on May 10 - Tehran- May 13, 2010
After the execution of 5 political prisoners on May 9, students of Meli University started a protest from early morning which surged by the unannounced presence of Ahmadinejad.
During the protest which last till 2 pm students clashed with Bassijies protecting the Hall where Ahmadinejad held his speech to open a way to reach the hall and protest at Ahmadinejad’s face.
Female students were pioneers in the clashes and engaged with Bassijies trying to save a student who was grasped by them.
In this huge protest gathering the students paved Ahmadinejad’s route with packages of chips which had the picture of a monkey on it to show how much they disgust him.
Students chanted:
-death to Ahmadinejad
-Bassiji has gone wild
-Zealous students support, support
-We will not stop midway we are not traitors
-We are the children of war fight and we will fight back
-Freedom, Freedom, Freedom
-Dirty Bassiji, you want to shed the blood of the nation
-Death to Bassiji
