Public Mourning announced in Kurdish regions

In protest to the execution of 5 political prisoners, residents of Kurdish areas especially Kamyaran and Sanandaj announced May 10 as the day of Public Mourning.
A great number of residents, guilds activists and civil activists in Kurdish regions issued an urgent call asking all the residents of the Kurdish cities to hold a public mourning on May 20 and to express the protest in anyway possible against the execution of political activists.
There is also news that bazaars of these cities are also trying to close on Monday.


Sanandaj under curfew
Sanandaj, May 9, 2010
An eyewitness reported from Sanandaj on May 9: “the city is turning to a military base. All common cell phones are cut throughout the city.
The anti riot units and plainclothes are stationed from Enghelab Sq. to the end of Taleghani St.
A great number of black vans full of agents are hidden in the building of Melat Bank in Ferdosi St. intersection of Shahid Namaki.
