Breaking News - Labor Day in Iran - May 1, 2010

Tehran- May 1: On Friday Night April 30, residents of Pasdaran and Gisha regions in Tehran chanted Allah O Akbar at the wake of Labor Day.
In Gisha this nightly protest continued til 1030.

Shiraz- May 1: Workers of meat industry have started their protest. More than 100 workers are gathering in front of Governor Office. They are carrying placards reading:
-You don't need to share oil income with us at least give us the breads for our dining tables.
-After 20 years history of work they have fired us and closed Fars Meat Company.
-You who claim that you are just, shame on you, shame on you.
-When you closed Fars Meat Company and fired its workers did you thought of their families that will be doomed?
-Laborer congratulation on your day of unemployment!


Qazvin- May 1: 800 of Qazvin workers are gathering in protest in Qazvin's so-called Imam's Heritage Stadium.
The placard they hold reads as:
-We workers of Alborz Chinaware factory demand that the factory should not be closed.
-We workers of Alborz Chinaware factory have not received our wages for 7 months.

The workers chant:
-Laborers unit, unit.
-Supporting the workers is supporting Islam.


Shiraz- May 1:
The number of participants in Fars Meat Company gathering in front of Shiraz's Governor Office has reached 2000.
More than 1000 workers of Shiraz Long Distance Communication Enterprise who have not received their wages for 13 months have joined the protest gathering.
A great number of SSF are surrounding the workers.
