Tehran - Feb. 20, 2011


Protesters are waiting for nightfall in the streets near and around the university.
A large number of people were arrested in Hafte Tir Square and security forces threw detainees into minibuses with drawn curtains and took them to an unknown location.
It is raining in Tehran and the crowds are growing larger.

At about 5 pm a large crowd was gathered in Fatemi Square and they were chanting. There are a large number of security forces on the scene who attacked the protesters.

The crowds are growing larger in Amir Abad. More people will probably come out on the streets at nightfall. They brought security forces to Amir Abad at about 5 pm and there was no security presence in this area before this.

Tehran - Feb. 20 - UPRISING

The streets are filled with protesters and security forces are making arrests. They arrested a number of people in the Enqelab Intersection and are brutally beating protesters. They arrest the people without reason. Security agents are filming the faces of the protesters for later identification.

Protesters were gathered in Vanak Square from 2:30 to 4 pm and they are going towards Enqelab Square. Motorists are honking their horns in support of the protesters.

Shiraz- Feb. 20

Protesters clashed with security forces and hurled handmade grenades at them. The gathering in Shiraz started from the Namazi Square to the Mullah Sadra intersection and there are currently clashes between security forces and protesters.
The crowds are growing larger by the moment in Mullah Sadra and they are chanting death to dictator.

Isfahan- Feb. 20, at 1700

Protesters are attacking SSF and chanting ‘death to Khamenei’ and ‘death to dictator’.

Tehran- Feb. 20, at 1630

- Hard clashes around Tehran University’s dormitory; the suppressive agents attack the crowd with car and motorbikes.
- At Enghelab people are throwing flammable material along with the slogan of ‘death to Khamenei’ at the suppressive agents making them retreat. They are also chanting ‘Seyyed Ali must know that he is gone soon’.
