Latest Update on Iran - Uprising on Feb. 20 - 1Esfand

Tehran- Feb. 20, at 1600
Bassijies take ambulances and go among the protesters and then arrest the people and take them away because they know people attack SSF cars.

Tehran- Feb. 20, at 1540
Parkway is crowded with protesters. They are clashing with suppressive forces chanting Seyyed Ali (Khamenei) its time to go.

Tehran- Feb. 20, at 1515
Plainclothes are stationed on high buildings in Vali-e-Ast Street.

Sanandaj - Feb. 20
According to reports, in light of the strikes in Sanandaj, the Iranian regime has started a carnival on the streets using its Bassi, plainclothes agents and Bassij soldiers and is giving out sweets. They want to show in this way that nothing is going on in this city. State-run TV cameras are on the scenes taking shots to show in their television at night.


Mahabad- Feb. 20
The people have gone on strike and have closed all their shops. There were clashes between the people and State Security Forces at 3 pm in the main square of this city.

Tehran - Feb. 20
A large number of people have gathered in Imam Hossein Square and are clashing with security forces. These clashes are ongoing.

Tehran- Feb. 20
A student was arrested in the Valiasr Square. People tried to free him but security forces shot tear gas to disperse the crowds. In Vanak Street, there are severe clashes between security forces and the people which is ongoing. There are a large number of protesters in Saie Park and security forces are trying to control the scene and have clashed with the protesters.

Tehran - Feb. 20
According to reports, there are demonstrations in various areas in Tehran including in Valiasr Street, outside the Seda and Sima (state-run TV) building and Vanak and the Valiasr Intersection and people are marching in the sidewalks.
The crowds are much larger than on February 14 and security forces are also out on full force with special gear.
Keshavarz Blvd. is still volatile.

Rasht- Feb. 20
About 200 young people are clashing with security forces in Motahari Street. People are supporting the demonstrators. They are chanting slogans against Khamenei, the Revolutionary Guards Forces and Ahmadinejad. Security agents seize all cellphones.
