Bazaar

Strike in Tabriz leads to clashes
Tabriz, July 19, 2010
Tabriz’s roofed bazaar was still on strike on July 19. Molana Bazaar was on strike on July 18. The strike is spreading to the shopkeepers in the city center.
On Monday July 19 the whole Bazaar of Tabriz and the streets leading to it were flooded with Plainclothes and Intelligence agents. They mixed with the crowds and started speaking with them to identify the strikers. They then arrested them.
SSF and intelligence agents attacked some large malls in Tabriz and by using iron rods and levels opened the shops by force. They beat malls’ guards and even old men with batons and shockers and then issued a high fine for the shopkeepers to pay. Some of the guild’s members were arrested and transferred to an unknown location.

Suppressive forces attack bazaar of Zahedan

After the recent clashes in Zahedan regime’s mercenaries attacked shops in bazaar of the city breaking their glasses. Phones in Zahedan’s bazaar are blocked by Intelligence Ministry.

Lines for gas become longer

Due to decrease in gasoline rations since June 22 lines of gas pumps (for gas consuming cars) have increased. Though pumps for taxis and personal cars are divided but the length of the lines have become longer.

Effects of sanction step up IRGC’s problems

The new sanctions have caused real problems for Khatam-al-anbia Base of IRGC. This base had to withdraw from the contract of phase 15 and 16 of South Pars Gas Field’s project because when this organ is participating in this project no foreign company is willing to participate in that and provide the regime with necessary technology and equipments.
This base is also active in atomic projects and has had its hand in the construction of uranium enrichment site in Qom.

Worried about selling oil

Akbar Torkan a former official in regime’s Oil Ministry who is active in regime’s Strategic Research Center conceded: “we are worried about selling the oil not its price”.
As the result of sanctions regime is selling its oil 3 to 7 dollars cheaper per barrel to its European customers.

In his speech in Qazvin and in an obvious confrontation with the world community Ahmadinejad said: “Iran will not retreat from its uranium enrichment program. You think that you issue a resolution of sanctions and we retreat. Never”, he said.

An eyewitness of Ashura Uprising condemned to two years imprisonment

In a 20 minutes kangaroo court judged by the criminal judge Moghiseh, Laila Tavasoli was condemned to two years imprisonment along with corporal punishment.
She was accused of being present in the demonstrations of Ashura and June 15, 2009. She was also accused of having an interview with a Persian Language radio abroad as an eyewitness to the murder of one of the protesters.
An SSF car ran over Shahram Farajzadeh in Vali-e-Asr Square deliberately and killed him and Laila was a witness of the scene.

Political prisoner in critical condition at Saghez Prison

Rashid Akhandi a death row political prisoner is in critical condition. Rashid is charged with ‘Moharebe’. He is deprived from visiting his family.
Though he is suffering from several deceases the prison’s henchmen prevent any treatment for him. Rashid has problems with his eyes and kidneys.

Mansour Osanlo on trial again
Tehran, July 18, 2010
Mansour Osanloo the head of Tehran’s Bus Driving Syndicate who was once tried on charge of ‘propagation against the Establishment’ was put on trial again on the same charge. Mr. Osanloo was condemned to 5 years imprisonment on his first trial and the term is near to end.

Saeed Torabian transferred, Reza Shahabi’s status unknown

Saeed Torabian a member of Tehran’s Bus Driving Syndicate was transferred to Karaj’s Gohardasht Prison.
There is no news of another member of this syndicate Reza Shahabi. In his last call with his family last week, Reza had said that he was then at ward 209 of Evin Prison.
It is not clear what the charges of these two laborer activists are?

Vicious raid by Plainclothes on residents of Zahedan
Zahedan, July 19, 2010
On the night of July 18 Plainclothes in Zahedan raided shops of Balooch residents in Zahedan, destroyed them and sat them on fire.
Due to this raid bazaars of Rasooli, Salmanzadeh and Rooz were closed on July 19.

Putting pressure on the members of Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Syndicate

The Harasat of Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Factory has told the family of a laborer activist of this company, Faraidoon Nikofar to evacuate their organizational house belonging to the company.
It has also threatened those workers who financially helped the families of the fired workers of this company. They have been told that if they continue this act they will be sent to the Intelligence Bureau of the township.

Workers in deplorable conditions

Though temporarily workers of Talia Company affiliated with Iran Communication Enterprise have not received their wages since 3 to 4 months ago and are in deplorable living condition they are threatened that they will be fired if they are not satisfied with this.
In this inhuman manner they make the workers do their jobs and hush up without receiving their wages.

No wages for 15 months how do we live?

Workers of Iran Naghsh carpet weaving factory have not received their wages and bonuses for 15 months.
One of the workers said: “when we receive our wages we can hardly provide the least necessities of our lives and now we haven’t received it for 15 months. Think of our deplorable situation.
Hekmatollah one of the workers with 23 years history of work had a hearth attack because of these pressures and died and now his family has no refuge. When Ahmadinejad came to Qazvin we wrote our problems on placards but at the beginning of his speech they took our placards away and torn them instead of seeing into our problems.
If we talk we don’t know what they would do with our families”.

Workers of Shiraz’s Long Distance Communication Company have not received their wages for 18 months

One of the workers of this factory said: “our lives are destroyed, we don’t want anything extra...We say to them to comply with your own laws”.
This company has 700 workers and has not paid their wages for one and a half year due to lack of cash basin.

On Friday July 16 the electricity was cut in Chardonge region from morning till Saturday morning.
The clerical regime absurdly claims that there in no electricity cut in Tehran.

Damages due to cut of electricity in factories
Pakdasht, July 19, 2010
Milk producion factories are facing serious problems for keeping their products and producing them because of cut in electricity. In one of these factories electricity is cut on Wednesdays from 10 am and lasts 8 to 10 hours.
The factory is closes and its workers are facing problems.
Milk and yogurt remain in large pots. They either will ruin or the workers have to stay in the factories to take care of them out of work hours.
Another factory producing parts for cars, Ring Gostar Factory, has to work at night because of long electricity cut during the day.
This has caused lots of problems for the workers of the factory.
A plastic producing factory in industrial township of Abbas Abad is faced with cut in electricity from 11 am to 7 pm several days a week.
About 350 workers of this factory have to stay longer hours in the factory to save the goods in their production process.

Farmers gathered in protest in front of Grain Organization

Plague has ruined a lot of grain products in Lorestan province. This event could have been prevented by government.
Now the Grain Organization of regime has announced that it will buy the wheat from the farmers, one fourth of its price in bazaar. This would not compensate at all for the heavy damage and financial damage of the farmers. Some of the farmers went to the organization on July 18 protesting against the government’s act.

Two managers of large electrical companies committed suicide
Tehran, July 18, 2010
Because the Ministry of Power did not paid the money it owed to large contractors the managers of two of these companies committed suicide.
Last year the amount owed by the ministry was about 1000 billion tomans and it has increased to 6000 billion tomans this year.
The Ministry of Power has no budget under its control to be able to pay its debts and it can just pay the wages of its employees.
Parsa the head of Board of Managers of Power Industry Syndicate called the situation ‘the gradual death of Iran’s power industry’.

Professors resigned, students are helpless
Tehran, July 19, 2010
Following the resignation of professors of Khaje Nasir University in protest to governments negligence of their needs for a proper education students of this university, especially those getting their Master of Science degree in its last year cannot continue their education and finish their master.
