Breaking News - Labor Day in Iran - May 1, 2010

In Tehran at the scene of Ahmadinejad's speech in the Interior Ministry a number of labor representatives from factories which are in a critical state protested and went towards him in a way that Ahmadinejad's bodyguards were forced to tighten their circle around him. These labor representatives were extremely angry that they were not allowed to talk about their problems.

In Ilam, one person was arrested in Khayam Street while a number of people gathered outside the Agricultural Bank. Security forces dispersed them. Another group of protesters were dealt with by security forces in Shohada Square while there were reports of clashes in Mobarezan Street.
Security forces started patrolling the whole city from 5 am and they are present in all squares. It has been stressed that they should prevent all illegal gatherings.
