Massacre of 30000 political prisoner in 1988 in Iran by Iranian Regime

In summer of 1988, 30000 political prisoners were sent to the gallows on the direct order of Khomeini.
The ‘Boards of Death’ immediately ordered the execution of those political prisoners who identified themselves as ‘Mojahed’; a PMOI member or supporter.
These kangaroo courts lasted only a few minutes.
The massacred political prisoners in Tehran were buried in collective graves in a land which was called later ‘Khavaran Golzar’ meaning ‘the land of flowers of the East’.
Each year at the anniversary of this massacre the families of the slain political prisoners and other freedom loving people gather in this Golzar commemorating those who fall for the freedom of Iran.

Massacre of 30000 political prisoner in 1988 in Iran by Iranian Regime

Brief on Massacre of Political Prisoners in Iran....

Massacre of political prisoners;
Genocide by the Velayat-e-Faghih establishment

At the anniversary of the massacre of political prisoners we remember those heroes and heroines who said no to Khomeini and were hanged because
 they cried for freedom.

One of the most dreadful crimes of Khomeini was the massacre of political prisoners in summer of 1988.

The grounds of this merciless massacre which was a dark conspiracy for an obvious génocide by the order of Khomeini were layed from years ago.

Since mid July a nationwide massacre of political prisoner started and continued from few months.
The main goal of this killing was to eradicate the political prisoners, especially the supporters and members of PMOI, who had resisted heroically during years against the medieaval tortures of Khomeini’s henchmen not repenting and not yielding to the mullahs’ regime.

In these dark days Khomeinie’s ‘boards of death’ consisted of the closest elements to Khomeini from Intelligence Ministry, Prosecutor Office and prison’s authorities concentrated on executing a plan that they had in mind since years ago and were preparing for it since a few months former to summer of 1988.

In Kangaroo courts lasting not more than a few minutes these boards ruled that imprisoned PMOI members and supporters must be hanged.

According to the testimoney of eyewitnesses who miraculously survived the massacre, the only touchstone of ‘the boards of death’ was how a prisoner expressed his or her organizational identity. ‘Mojahed’ or as they wanted it ‘Monafegh (Hypocrite)’.

Decree for hanging the political prisoners affiliated with PMOI was issued by such crulty that it didn’t comply with any known regulations of behavior towards prisoners.

The center of the massacre was in Tehran at Evin and Gohardasht Prisons but there was no prison in any city, township or village that was kept safe from the massacre.

The ‘board of death’ covered them all.

This atrocious and unprecedented killing was conducted based on a written decree and daily orders and supervision of Khomieni.

The employees, gaurds and Pasdars (IRGC members) at the prison were ordered to participate in the hangings. They were ordered to strike on the heads and chests of the hanged prisoners so that they would all be accompolices in this crime. In this manner they could not disclose the massacre.

The number of executions was so high that in transferring the bodies of the martyrs to collective graves around Qom’s Ali Abad the body of one of the female PMOI member fell down off the lorry that was carrying the bodies.

The Pasdars present arrested some of the eyewitnesses there and threatened that this should not be narrated anywhere.

It must be said that these hangings were so inhumane, horrible and cruel that even Montazeri, then successorof Khomeini protested the act saying: “PMOI represent an ideology. You cannot destroy them by physically terminating them...”

Khomeini and Khamenei were not able and will not be able to extinguish the flames of resistance.
The uprising of people of Iran showed that the fire of resistance still lies under the ashes.
The clerical dictatorship tries in vein to hush up the uprising and its cry for freedom by suppression, execution, torture and arbitrary arrests.

The irreversible breakage of the talisman of Velayat, the continuous waves of the uprising of people of Iran, regime’s continuous quest for achieving nuclear bomb and its noncompliance with the international laws well show that it is the beginning of the end of this anti human regime.

The international unity in regard with regime’s instability which shows itself in imposing hard sanctions against this regime also speaks of the downfall of this regime.

It is for sure that after the downfall the elements of regime participants in this massacre must be put on trial at international courts for all these dreadful crimes.

Brief on Sanctions

Brief on Sanctions
 No.2

Sanctions’ aftermaths on clerical regime’s establishment

After the approval of sanctions in UN Security Council US, EU, Canada and Australia increased pressure on the regime of Velayat-e-Faghih by issuing unilateral sanctions.
Belongings of three regime banks namely Meli, Melat and Persian were confiscated by Britain.
These belongings worth 5.2 billion dollars and were related with two of regime’s shipping companies.
Though Ahmadinejad has claimed that these actions cause no problems for Iran’s shipping but the 27 countries, members of EU, will not accept regime’s ships in their harbors.

B.P. has directed its branches in Europe not to provide fuel for regime’s planes.
This was implemented on two of regime’s planes on July 4  & 8 in Hamburg’s airport.

The effects of sanctions are obvious now.
ILNA state-run news agency pointed to the saying of Royanian (from IRGC) and said: “our enemy can strike on us the best by the issue of gasoline. Right now providing gasoline for the country has turned into a crisis”.
A few days ago Ahmadinejad claimed: “if they impose sanctions on gasoline we will produce the amount needed in two days”.
But the authorities in Oil Company and the experts of the field say: “It is not possible to increase the amount of production of gasoline in such amount and in such time”.
Mir Kazemi, Ahmadinejad’s oil minister said: “the country will be independent on the issue of gasoline in 1392 (2013-2014) and that, only if the necessary investment is provided in the fields of oil and gas. But right now we are witnessing that the foreign countries that were supposed to invest in the development of country’s south oil fields have stopped the act due to sanctions”.
United Arab Imarets ordered blockage of 41 bank accounts belonging to Regime’s enterprises in that country. These accounts were related to the enterprises affiliated with IRGC who participated in regime’s nuclear activities.

Manager of London’s Lloyds Company limited giving insurance to any ship that carries Iran’s gasoline.

J.S.  Company from South Korea cancelled its great gas contract for South Pars gas field. As the result the general manager of inspection and supervision of oil affairs in regime’s Inspection Organization admitted: “we have shortage in injection of gas into oil reservoirs and the Oil Ministry has not been successful at all in their usage”.

An authority in Natanz Nuclear Center reminded Ahmadinejad in a letter that after the recent sanctions they are having problem in providing the necessary equipments for building centrifuges. Before the sanctions these equipments were easily provided from England. The letter says: “currently Natanz’s storage of steal is finished and it is not easy to provide for it”.

Mali Times in Germany has seen into the issue of the effects of UN sanctions on regime’s oil market and has written that regime is not finding customer for its oil and huge rented oil-ships are wondering on the Persian Gulf’s waters.
The media continues: “as an important customer, China has cut its oil trade with Iran into half...”

A great number of observers believe that IRGC who has accepted the project of phases 14 and 15 of South Pars for 2 billion dollars has neither the knowledge nor the technology for it to substitute for foreign companies.

During the last 30 years regime’s income from oil has had tripled but the living condition of people has not only not changed for better but has worsened.
All the pressures imposed by sanctions are to pull down a regime that has lost its domestic legitimacy and is unstable.

We the Students Committee in Iran believe that for stopping regime’s terrorism and construction of nuclear bomb the sanctions must intensify until the main economic assets in the hands of IRGC and regime’s elements are cut and paralyzed.

By giving away the countries oil and assets this regime has survived so far and has been able to suppress its people. If these sanctions get tougher it will put more pressure on this regime for sure.

We at the Students Committee in Iran demand all human rights organs and human loving personalities as well as European countries and US to support people of Iran in their quest for peace, freedom and democracy and impose harder international sanctions that would paralyze the terrorist regime ruling Iran.

Brief on Sanctions on Iran - Sanctions; why?

Brief on Sanctions on Iran
No.1

Sanctions; why?

Have you ever asked yourself why we are pro or against the sanctions against the clerical dictatorship ruling Iran?

The question is that if regime’s intention in uranium enrichment is peaceful why had it not built even one refinery of power site during these 30 years using this science?
Why is it that we are witnessing cut in electricity and shortage of drinking water in many of Iran’s cities and villages each day?
Even in Tehran, the capital long hours of cut in electricity and cut in water happen.
Shortage of drinkable water has made residents of Natanz where has become famous in the world because of its nuclear site, desperate.
One of the residents of Natanz said: “we don’t know to what issue the assets of this country are dedicated? But believe it that we don’t have water to drink”.
According to official statistics in Mashad and Hamedan the crisis of drinkable water has made the residents desperate. 90% of Naien villages, 100 villages in Boein Zahra of Qazvin and villages of Qeshm Island have no drinking water.
In Qeshm, villagers have to pay 800 tomans for each cubic meter of drinkable water.

Another question is that why in a country such as Iran that lies on a sea of oil not even one gasoline refinery with international standards has been built but in a country such as Turkey which enjoys no oil reservoir gasoline refinery works as such that it imports gasoline to Iran?

Yes there has been not even one instance that the dictatorship ruling Iran would have used its enriched uranium for peaceful issues for the welfare of its citizens.
Why does it not make it crystal clear for the world for what purpose is it enriching uranium up to 20%?

That is exactly the reason based on which US and EU have issued sanctions against the regime so that it would stop its eagerness for achieving atomic bomb, boasting its military power and to make it to comply with international laws.

Sanctions have targeted the heads of regime and IRGC, the organ which has the economy of Iran under its control and has caused the devastation of domestic productions, agriculture, ranching and other industries of Iran.
IRGC and its subordinates and the heads of the regime have taken control of all the industrial and production factories of the country and have ousted their workers or are exploiting them giving them very little wage.

According to the latest news published in the papers the import of the whole country is in hands of only four persons ‘that we cannot name them but they have caused destruction of the domestic productions’.

Are these four counted amongst ‘people’ so that one can say that the sanctions would harm them or should we call the officials and heads of the Velayat’s establishment and the suppressive IRGC members, great vultures of Iran’s public wealth and economy, as people?

Who are the people of Iran?
People of Iran are those 8 million deprived workers who are not paid by the private section (regime’s elements) and have always not received their wages for 5 to 10 months; people of Iran are one million teachers who have not received their wages and bonuses; people of Iran are those who are retired and have not received their pension and protest against that; people of Iran are the employees who are receiving good for nothing wages and that too not paid to them; people of Iran are  widows who have to take care of three or five children and the only help that government gives them is 25000 tomans; and people of Iran are those who were forced to work as non-official taxi drivers to earn some money for their families and were faced with the price of 400 tomans per liter of gasoline in free market not after the sanctions but before it.

And now that the sanctions are putting pressure on the Supreme Leader, Khamenei and his IRGC those who still have their hands in the pockets of mullahs cry that people are under pressure by these sanctions.
But the pressure derived from sanction of gasoline or any other oil product on people is much better than the daily pressures imposed by IRGC and other suppressive organs and elements of regime on people in streets, factories, universities, schools and prisons.

People of Iran don’t want this regime. It is this regime that has imposed the sanctions on people of Iran by not answering to the international community.

The question is would any sanctions have existed if this religious tyranny did not ruled Iran?
So we must know that the root of all the limitations is the existence of this regime that must be uprooted. Then the people of Iran can breathe in peace and welfare.
Iranians say we don’t want this clerical dictatorship, we request for harder sanction on this clerical regime.
So let’s help each other to throw this regime to the trash can of the history.

Laying the grounds for another massacre of political prisoners
at the anniversary of the massacer in 1988

The clerical regime, desperate of the will of the people of Iran and their resistance for its downfall is laying the ground for another massacre of innocent and defenseless political prisoners in its mediaeval dungeons to revenge its inevitable destiny.
Khamenei who straightly directs these crimes thinks in vein that with the decrees of execution especially for the supporters of PMOI he can break their will for his downfall. He doesn’t know that each execution escalates this will until Iran’s freedom and democracy is prevailed.
The Students Committee in Iran calls on the international community to act immediately for saving the lives of these innocent prisoners. We demand that regime’s record of human rights be remanded to UN’s Security Council for taking decisive actions against this crime against humanity.

Remembering the massacred political prisoners
Tehran, August 3, 2010
Monireh Rajavi as she is famous is ‘the symbol of massacred political prisoners in 1988’. She was the sister of Massoud Rajavi the leader of the resistance of Iran and this was her only crime.
Monireh was first arrested along with her 3 and 5 years old children in 1982 and was supposed to be freed in 1984 but she never was instead she was hanged 4 years after her term was over by the direct order of Khomeini.
Mullah Nayeri the so-called religious judged of Evin who condemned the political prisoners of Evin in that massacre to be hanged was persistent in her execution and he insisted that it should be done immediately.
Monireh was 38 when hanged.
During all these years her two small children were tortured with her because they were taken to the torture chambers and made to sit behind the door of the room in which their mother was tortured.
Neither Monireh nor any other of these 30000 political prisoners were ever forgotten. They had always inspired the resistance of this brave nation and they will always inspire it.

Tehran, August 2, 2010
When on August 2 suppressive forces dispersed the protesting families of political prisoners from in front of Prosecutor Office and the notorious Revolution Court the families went to Bazaar.
They stood in front of Bazaar and in a loud voice shouted that: “you went on strike for taxes for a week, and now we invite you to strike for our beloveds”.
Shopkeepers came out of their shops and supported the families.
Mothers chanted Allah O Akbar there.

An eyewitness speaks about Kahrizak Death Camp
On July 9 (2009), at about 3 to 4 pm I reached Vali-e-Asr Intersection and I went towards the square. It was a bit crowded. As I went towards south the crowd got stronger. People chanted slogans and the suppressive agents dispersed them.
In different locations we were attacked from both front and back. SSF, Plainclothes and Especial Guards tried to surround us. They attacked us. I was beaten with batons several times but I was able to escape.
I was sitting in a corner to rest and was waiting for the crowd to gather again and to start the protest that a Plaincloth called me.
I was afraid that I might have been identified and I had no escape root. Suddenly somebody pulled my hands back and handcuffed me.
First they doubted if they caught me right or not because I was wearing black and I had beard. They showed me to each other but known of them knew me.
They threw me in a car, took my cell-phone and gave it to a female agent. I asked her to call my family and tell them about me but they grasped me, swore at me and pulled me into the car.
The car was crowded. They took us to police station No. 107.
Their behavior was offensive and they encouraged each other to beat us so that we would talk.
I gave my home address so that if my family looks for me they can find me.
We were about 300 detainees there.
When night came they told us that the food is only for the personnel. In the morning about 8.30 they gave us breakfast and we had to pay for it.
After the interrogation it was about 10.30 to 11 am that they transferred some to Evin Prison and the others to Kahrizak.
The cars were stopped behind Kahrizak’s entrance we heard them say that there is no more room. Anyway they took us inside. They offended us all the time.
When we entered there an inmate took a piece of bread from one of us and eat it eagerly, then we understood to what kind of a place we were taken.
They made us naked in front of each other and asked for our identification. When they called us we had to run fast towards the silo if we walked a little bit slowly we were beaten. They humiliated us and used very shameful words.
Any move, we had to make it fast but the doors were narrow and we had to hit each other to be able to mover fast otherwise we would all be beaten.
The silo was filthy. We sweated all the time and the silo’s floor was wet from our sweating.
Many ordinary prisoners, regime’s elements called them; hooligans, were kept there.
Sometimes they bothered us and we didn’t dare to go alone anywhere even to toilet. We moved in groups.
But amongst them there were those who were humane and threatened the others not to bother us.
It was terrible there. There wasn’t even room to sleep. The heat made us fatigue.
During the days that I was there I slept only 2 hours.
The agents started beating us on no excuse.
Though Amir* was in a very bad condition himself but he fanned us and Moshen* too; he always took care of us.
Mohsen used to say: “I came for July 9*” and he calmed the others and tried to keep our spirits high.
About 20 of us were put in ‘cages’ having the worst condition.
The food was rotten potato and sewage water and nothing else. First we didn’t know the water was collected from toilets but when we found out we still had no other choice than using it.
The silos had small windows and from there instead of air they pumped smoke in.
Most of us became seek and infected.
I was there from July 10 to 14. The condition there was unbearable.
They hanged the prisoners from their feet.
After a while they came and barbed us bold. Mohsen told them you remove our hairs but can you change our beliefs.
We all smelled like shit. The whether we breath was contaminated.
When a few died Khamenei’s elements asked a physician form army to swear as a witness that they had died from Meningitis but he refused. They asked the corner so but he refused too.
Then a low rank soldier accepted to do so. When he did, they poisoned him and killed him.
They took Amir twice for check but they told him that he was all right and sent him back. On July 14 they called us and transferred us to Evin with a bus. Amir died in the way.
When they took us to Evin they sent us to take showers and threw away all our clothing.
Even the guards approached us with mask. They were afraid that they might get sick.
Later we understood that when the news of the murder of Mohsen Rooholamini, Mohammad Kamrani and others was conveyed to the world and Khamenei found out that the world knows about Kahrizak, they were forced to transfer us.

*Amir: Amir Javadi far was severely tortured in Kahrizak and died while being transferred to Evin Prison.
*Mohsen: Mohsen Rooholamini was the son of a close element of Khameni but they didn’t even show him mercy because he had participated in the uprising. He was severely tortured and murdered in Kahrizak. They told his family that he has died from Menangitis.

The painful story of Ahmad Bob, a civil activist from Marivan
Marivan- August 2, 2010
Ahmad Bob civil activist from Marivan has been under most severe physical and psychological tortures during the 165 days that he had been in the hands of Khamenei’s henchmen.
He was arrested on September 27, 2009 in a raid on his house. The agents broke the door and without representing any warrant they detained him blind folding his eyes. He went straightly under torture without even his charges being read to him.
The whole process of his detention is against even the laws of Islamic Republic’s constitution (article 32) and Judiciary (section 6).
At the fist hour of his detention he had to confess that he has been in connection with ‘anti-revolution groups’ and ‘had acted to disrupt the public order by gathering people against the Islamic Republic”.
Being just a civil activist he accept none so he went under the most sever tortures.
While being handcuffed, his legs tied and having eye-band on, three Khamenei agents viciously kicked him, beat him and lashed him with military belts.
Then they opened his hands, hold them and pulled out three of his front teeth with pincers until he became unconscious. They broke his rips, his skull was swelled due to baton strokes and his eyes were black; and this was only the first night.
“Principle 38 of Islamic Republic’s constitution forbids any torture for getting confession or acquiring information. Even if such a testimony is taken it has no legal value; the violator of this law will be punished”, just a joke in Islamic Republic.
Ahmad was usually tortured and interrogated from dusk to dawn to make him confess as they wanted him too. In 33 days he received no medical attention.
They made him to sit and rise a thousand times and when he made a mistake in the counting he had to do it from the beginning and then was beaten with military belts so hard that he wasn’t able to stand at all.
They made him to stand still up to 10 hours.
They threatened him with a piece and asked him which one of his fingers he wanted to choose to be cut first by shooting the piece at it.
They made him to stand up and then they dropped a large pincer from his forehead over his toes. With each stroke the toes started bleeding.
Under the torture they insisted that he should confess that he was spying for US.
They threatened him to rape saying that rape is allowed if the subject is an infidel.
They wanted to make him to sit on a cooker but he resisted all the time and for this ‘not executing the order’ he was severely beaten.
Ahmad was kept for 33 days in solitary cells in Marivan under the most severe tortures. He could use the toilet only three times a day and that was the only time that he reached water to drink.
During these 33 days he was deprived from having a shower and of using any cleansing agents. He was so fatigue that sometime he had to crawl towards the toilet.
After he was transferred to Sanandaj Prison because his skin was thoroughly infected with fungi and was suffering from internal bleeding he was kept in Quarantine section under treatment for 14 days and then was transferred again to Sanandaj Intelligence Prison and went again under interrogation and torture.
When they wanted him to have a TV confession and he refused, he was tied to a bed and while reading Koran they started to lash him on his soles.
He fainted times and again under the lashes, lost control of his urination and vomited times and again. He received 320 lashes.
They put a headphone on his head and played sounds that made him nervous and the sounds echoed in his ears for three days.
After 4 months and 20 days they told him to write his will because he was going to be executed.
At dusk of that day they took him in a room. The interrogators told him that was the execution room.
They made him to stand on a wheelchair beneath the hanging rope and put the rope himself around his neck.
They handcuffed him and tied his legs.
In that position they interrogated him again, wanting him to yield to confession.
In this condition all his body was sweating and he wasn’t able to stand up. He lay on the ground like a death.
One of the interrogators extinguished his cigarette on his elbow as his souvenir for him.
The intelligence interrogators grabbed his tongue with a pincer and made him walk around the room by pulling it. After that he wasn’t able to talk for four days.
They wanted to make him to crawl around the interrogation’s room and sound like animals when he resisted he was severely beaten.
Both of his soles were drilled. He was also hanged upside down.
During 5 months of his detention he was able to talk with his family only once by phone. They told him then to ask his family to come for a visit and when her pregnant wife came she went under interrogation for 5 hours.
After 155 days Ahmad was transferred to public prison of Marivan.
During all these time he could not have a lawyer.
After tolerating 165 days of torture he was freed on a 70 million tomans bail.
He cannot walk easily and the nerves of his soles are damaged along with other problems such as severe headaches and other signs and effects of torture that he is still suffering.
His file is still open in branch one of Marivan’s Revolution Court chaired by the so-called Judge, Lotfi.

But it is very surprising that neither the initial court nor the court of review did not pay any heed to this matter and issued and upheld the sentence”, he added.
A person close to Abdolreza Qanbari him a teacher who has been sentenced to death said,
“His lawyer was appointed for him and we do not even have any news on his lawyer”, he added.
“Unfortunately, Mr. Qanbari’s appointed lawyer is not from the Justice Department Lawyer Center and is a lawyer who got his permit from the Judiciary according to article 187 of the Economical Development Program and not from the Center of Lawyers and we do not even have access to him to see about the measures that have been taken or will be taken or even if he has a copy of the sentence so that we could request a re-trial. On the other hand we do not know about the circumstances of the amnesty request and we have not received any answers and are extremely worried”, he added.

In memory of 30000 political prisoners who were massacred by mullahs' regime in 1988

Stop another massacre of political prisoners

In memory of 30000 political prisoners
who were massacred by mullahs' regime in 1988

In 1988 30000 political prisoners majority of them supporters of PMOI were hanged after having two or three-minutes trials in kangaroo courts by a three member board known as ‘the Board of Death’.
In these kangaroo courts which were a room with a table and four sits political prisoners were faced with ‘the Board of Death”.
They were just asked whether they were still a Mojahed (PMOI supporter or member) or still dissidents of the regime or had they repent. One word "Mojahed" was enough for the board to condemn them to execution and in this manner more than 30000 political prisoners were hanged in August of 1988 just in few weeks and buried collectively in a land which was later named Khavaran Golzar (the place of flowers) by people.
Now at the last days of this religious tyranny the regime intends to execute another massacre and it is on the conscious of the world to stop it.

On Wednesday July 28 regime’s media announced that the decree of execution for Mr. Jafar Kazemi is approved.
Mr. Kazemi’s allegation is that he had traveled to Ashraf City, Iraq (the place of resident of PMOI members) to see his son.
Baztab’s site: “6 members of Monafeghin (the name regime calls PMOI) are awaiting execution”.
Kayhan Daily, Khamenei’s organ wrote: “the decree of execution of one of the members of terrorist group of PMOI (this is how the labeling of PMOI as terrorists that still continues in US helps the clerical dictatorship in its suppression and massacre of political prisoners) who was active in the street riots of last year is finalized. Jafar K. who was arrested last year during the riots has been in prison for ten years during 1980 decade for being with PMOI and was freed on 1991. His son is now residing in the military base of Ashraf in Iraq and is working with terrorists. He too has gone there and came back to the country.
Jafar K. was tried during the last 11 months first at branch 28 of Revolution Court charged with Moharebe, gathering and planning for acting against the national security and propagating against the Establishment and was condemned to execution. After his lawyer protested the file was sent to revision court and the decree was endorsed...

The families of politcal prisoners have reported that the phones have been cut in ward 350 of Evin Prison during last few days. Usually on the eve of the execution of political prisoners regime cuts the phones at the prison.
During last months some Kurd political prisoners were also executed in Evin Prison.

Ehsan Behrooz 23, a student of Management in Mashad’s university is kept in detention at Mashad’s Intelligence Bureau located in Vakilabad Blvd. of Mashad.
The intelligence agents have told Ehsan’s mother that if he doesn’t deny Christianity he will be charged with blasphemy.
In Ehsan’s birth certificate it is written that he is a Seyed (successor of Imams) and thus his case is more sensitive.
It is to be mentioned that on December of 1990 a Christian priest, Hossein Soodmand, was hanged in Mashad’s prison because he was also a Seyed in his birth certificate and did not yield to regime’s pressure to leave Christianity.
