Our children are not dead.

In the past few days, the water has been constantly cut off and prisoners are deprived from drinking water. When the water does come on, only warm drops come from the tap. (Officials) cite installation problems as the cause of the warm water in the pipes and say that they are not able to solve the problem.
Female prisoners have also been suffering from severe food poisoning in the past few days and are denied treatment. They suffer from nausea and severe diarrhea.
Student prisoner Mahdieh Golro was summoned by the Prosecutor of Tehran, Abbas Jafari Dolat Abadi, and pressured and threatened for supporting her executed cellmate Shirin Alamhouli.

One of his methods is to raise pressures against political prisoners when news on the problems of female prisoners is published in the media (by a particular prisoner) and in this way officials blame the growing pressure on that particular prisoner to create divisions between prisoners.

Commemorating Students Uprising on July 9, 1999 - History - Brief by Iran Students Committee

Brief

Commemorating Students Uprising on July 9, 1999

The Students Uprising on July 9, 1999 which lasted for 6 days imposed the first shock of downfall on the clerical dictatorship and showed that ‘university’ is still the ‘battalion of freedom’ as it has always been in Iran’s history.

This uprising was the beginning of the movement for liberty and the beginning of the decisive historical defeat of Mullahs’ rule.

The Students Uprising started in protest to the approval of a new law of censorship and confiscation of ‘Salam’ newspaper.

Student organizations formed a committee called ‘the Committee of Sit-In’. The committee condemned the confiscation of ‘Salam’ and called other students to join the sit-in at Koy-e-Daneshgah (section of Tehran University that its dormitory is located at, called as Koy in abriviation).

This uprising swiftly spread to other cities such as: tabriz, Shiraz, Mashad, Isfahan, Hamedan, Uromieh, Mahabad and some other cities summing up to 14 cities. The students showed that the best counteract for oppression is uprising.

On July 9, 1999 more than 10000 students organized a huge demonstration, in fear of which the clerical dictatorship attacked them at night by its SSF and Plainclothes. These vicious forces threw down some students from the second floor of the dormitory resulting to their death or injury.

Khatami was then president and ordered the Interior Minister to suppress the students.

The great lesson of this uprising was defiance of the regime. Students chanted ‘death to dictator’, ‘death to Khatami’ and ‘long live freedom’.

Now at the anniversary of Students Uprising, students intend to rise again in all universities and are calling people to join them.

Students, the most aware and prosperous elements of the society will rise in unity with other social strata at the anniversary of Students Uprising against religious tyranny ruling Iran.

Since last year’s election the uprising of Iranian nation has been continuous; the duty of students now is to call all social strata to hold demonstrations and call for freedom.

In unity we all will call ‘death to dictator- long live freedom’ and ‘death to Khamenei and death to the principle of Velayat-e-faghif’. We will demand the legitimate right of freedom of speech and we will demand the freedom of political prisoners.

We will tell the world with our cries that this uprising is alive and will continue till the clerical regime’s downfall.

News on Iran’s economy

Oil sanctions
Tehran, June 7, 2010
Regime’s oil and gas industry is the main target of sanctions.
By endorsement of 1929 resolution of Security Council and unilateral sanctions by US, Europe and Australia economic pressure on regime is increasing more than ever.
The first effect of these sanctions is pressure on regime’s oil and gas industry.
Currently 8 countries namely China, India, South Korea, Spain, Portugal, Greece and Turkey are the main buyers of regime’s oil.
These countries buy 1,700,000 barrels of oil per day from regime but this is decreasing.
Until recently Iran was the third provider of China’s oil but it has fallen down to the 8 level.
The latest news show that China’s import of oil from Iran has reduced up to 74% during the last month.
European countries that buy oil from Iran are gradually changing their counterparts and they might cut this purchase completely for a short interval.
Along with Europe, Japan and South Korea will not hesitate in cutting their deals with the regime.
In fear of sanctions India has not only reduced its import of oil from Iran but also has stopped exporting gasoline to it.
In such a condition gradual reduction in capacity for production of oil will have serious consequences for the regime.
Lack of international investment in oil industry which is the direct result of international sanctions has led to increase in regime’s capacity for production of oil.

Million tomans spent for governmental ceremony
Tehran, June 28, 2010
By the order of IRGC, Ministry of Education has spent millions tomans to paint on school for a ceremony called ‘the congress of martyrs of east of Tehran’. Two adjacent girls- schools have been used for this ceremony. The schools’ yards are covered with chairs and millions of tomans have been spent for the decoration. Pictures of hundreds of those who were killed in Iran-Iraq war as well as pictures of heads of IRGC and Bassij are painted on the walls costing millions of tomans..
This region is from deprived regions of east of Tehran but is embeds the highest number of governmental schools and educational centers. Most of the building of these schools and centers need maintenance; they even lack enough classes, blackboards, chalk and benches but the budget that was supposed to be used to provide this shortage and repair the buildings was used for this ceremony.
By using this budget for such a ceremony regime wants to show that the ideology of martyrdom in compliance with Vali-e-Faghih is deep in Iran’s schools in reaction to protests that have risen from the schools and other educational organs of the country for toppling the clerical dictatorship.

A Brief by Iran Students Committee

Advancement of Iranians Uprising

Though the clerical regime has suppressed full force to prevent any protest gathering at the anniversary of the nationwide uprising but Iran has witnessed protests and demonstrations especially by the students.
On June 12 students of Tehran University gathered in protest against the regime chanting ‘death to dictator’ and ‘a student will die but will not yield to oppression’.
Students of Sharif Industrial University chanted in their protest the same day ‘death to dictator’. Addressing Ahmadinejad they chanted ‘liar, liar’.

Families and mothers of the Uprising gathered in Behesht-e-Zahra Cemetery despite drastic security atmosphere to praise those who gave their lives for freedom of Iran. Some gathered by Kianoosh Asa’s grave in Kermanshah counting as nothing all the military and security measures of the regime.

On June 10, one day after the approval of sanction resolution in Security Council against regime and after Mr. Obama took position against the regime for the first time calling it an oppressing state, state supporter of terrorism, violator of human rights and a threat for justice for the whole globe Mosavi and Karrobi retreated from their call for demonstration on June 12.

Mr. Obama’s position clearly paved the way for Mosavi to stand firm. Mr. Obama said that Saturday (June 12) was the anniversary of the day when Iran’s election attracted the attention of the whole world, an event that must be remembered as how Iranians participated in it with praiseworthy feelings. But it must be remembered how Iran’s government brutally killed and suppressed the innocent and decent people including a young woman that died in the street.

This was the time when Iranian’s uprising had provoked international atmosphere in favor of it and it was the best time for Mosavi and Karobi to come into the scene.
But instead in a common statement they announced: “for preserving the lives and belongings of people the march on June 12 will not be held”!
By this they opened the way for Khamenei to suppress; closing their eyes on the right of speech, gathering and demonstration. ‘Preserving people’s lives and belongings’ was the worst excuse for preserving the life and wealth of Iranian regime, Khamenei and his suppressive forces.

Why did Mosavi and Karobi retreat and turned their back to people and participants in the uprising? Is such an issue accidental? No and never.

What is the importance of Security Council’s resolution?
The clerical regime has said from before that achieving nuclear weapon is the guarantee of its survival.
Since the day after Khomeini’s death in 1990 Rafsanjani said that this is the strategic tool for regime’s survival.
Regime reached to this conclusion that achieving nuclear weapon is its only way of survival.
Far from the nuclear issue this resolution blocks the appeasement policy conducted so far by US and European countries; from negotiations for finding moderates within the regime, to positive dialogues to criticizing dialogues. They are all done with.

By unbelievable suppression of this regime for 30 years, the price that was paid by people for 30 years and by their continuous uprisings the western countries specifically US reached this conclusion that there is no more room for any appeasement.

17 months after Mr. Obama took office and announced that his policy towards this regime was negotiation, after 27 months from the last resolution of sanctions on March 4, 2008 now this regime is faced with a new resolution of sanctions which targets regime’s organs including IRGC.  This resolution is coup de grace for the appeasement policy and compromising with it.

Why is this resolution a coup de grace for appeasement policy towards regime?
This resolution represents the red line of international society in regard with regime’s achievement of nuclear weapon.
About three months ago regime didn’t accept to send 1200 kg of its 3.5% enriched uranium to France; this was US condition for the continuation of negotiations with it. Then to prevent the approval of 1929 resolution regime was ready to send the same amount to Turkey but this time the uprising of Iranian nation had changed the situation. Regime had become shaky and weak.
As soon as the world comprehended that, the resolution was approved.
US and Europe counted regime’s treaty with Brazil and Turkey as nothing. Vienna Group; Russia, US and France too ruled out this treaty.
Thus it must be emphasized that this resolution is the coup de grace of maximum appeasement that US wanted to have towards the regime.

Can regime return to its former situation in a year ago?
If we close our eyes on this resolution and its aftermaths which are the results of Iran’s Uprising it would mean that the condition in Iran can go back to what it was before the Uprising. But the reality is that Khamenei’s talisman is broken and after people’s confrontation with the regime during the Uprising the regime is not capable of returning its condition back to what it was before the uprising.

Though with absolute suppression and enormous executions this regime has apparently been able to hold back the uprising but the uprising is the fire beneath the ashes.

What happened after the resolution? What could regime do? Were all these related to Mosavi’s withdrawal?
The clerical regime had two solutions.
First: to retreat in its atomic projects this would mean passing over the tool for its long term survival.
Second: to upgrade suppression and export of terrorism; a solution that regime has prefered.
Mosavi and Karobi discerned that Khamenei has chosen the second solution and they too would be the subject of arrest and they might be killed. Thus in spite of the fact that society especially youths were ready to confront a regime that was trapped in a dead-end and having in mind that they could use the positive international atmosphere especially in regard with US their first reaction was to cancel the march and the demonstration.

This wouldn’t stop the Uprising. Repression, suppression, cruelty and plundering is nothing new in this regime what is new is the global unity believing now that this regime is unstable and fragile.
Mosavi’s and Karobi’s role in such an international condition is just holding back the movement and people who are seeking freedom and democracy.
If the uprising that started from a year ago had a capable national leadership who would not compromise and surrender to Velayat-e-Faghieh it would have been in a different situation now.

On the other hand our people showed that they will not be stuck behind Mosavi and Karobi and they showed that the Uprising is alive and continues.
It is the fire under the ashes!
As our people had chanted in their uprisings ‘we haven’t been killed to compromise and to worship the murderer leader’.

Yes the opposition in Iran is alive. It is the fire under the ashes...

The Downfall

Admitting to schism within the regime Rafsanjani called it ‘waves of sedition’
Tehran, June 28, 2010
Rafsanjani the head of regime’s Expediency Council said: “today we need unity more than ever. There are visible and invisible hands who are striking on the drum of schism and severance”.
Pointing to the sanctions and ever increasing regime’s isolation he added: “at a time when sanctions and international pressures are coming to us like waves of sedition the just expectation from within (the regime) is to surmount the threats against the Islamic establishment by unity, solidarity and being tact”.
Without naming Khamenei whose talisman is broken he continued: “today whoever and in any place causes severance amongst people even if he says that he is sincere he is committing a huge and strategic mistake. The only way of getting rid of threats and concerns is strengthening unity and solidarity in the country.
Pointing to the anniversary of Khomeini’s death on June 4 and the fact that Hosein Khomeini, Khomeini’s grandson was not permitted to speak Rafsanjani said: “in a condition that the country is faced with different problems such an act is just the imprudence of some who show themselves as revolutionary and sacred”.

Larijani conceded to fatal schism at the top of the regime
Tehran, June 28, 2010

Do not let our mother be stoned to death

Sakineh Mohamadi Ashtiani a mother of two is in prison of the religious tyranny ruling Iran for five years. The decree issued for her is death penalty by ‘Stoning to death’ (Sangsar).
Her lawyer has tried hard these five years to rescue her from such a dreadful destiny but in vein and now Sakineh is in real danger.
Her two children Farideh (fe) and Sajad (m) are asking for help from all the world to prevent such and execution.

you can read their letter at below:

Letter of the children of death row prisoner Sakineh Ashtiani, who has been sentenced to death by stoning:

Today we seek help from people all over the world. It has been five years that we have lived without a mother’s love in constant fear. Is the world so cruel that it can see this catastrophe and easily pass it by?
We are Farideh and Sajad Mohammadi Ashtiani, the children of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani. The pain of having a mother in prison and having to wait for this catastrophe to take place is familiar for us. The truth is, the words ‘death by stoning’, is in itself so terrifying that we try to never use it. We say that our mother is in danger, our mother might die and our mother expects to be helped. Today, when all the paths have reached a dead end and our mother’s lawyer said that she is in grave danger, we come to you. We go to the people of the world. The color of your skin or the country or city you live in is not important. We go to everyone who has experienced the pain of losing a loved one.
Please help our mother come back home! We especially seek the help of Iranians all over the world. Please help end this nightmare and do not let it turn into a reality. Help and save our mother. Explaining the minutes and seconds of our life is very difficult. Words loose their meaning in these agonizing moments. Help us save our mother. Write letters and ask officials to release her. Tell them that no one has filed a complaint against her and that she has done nothing wrong. Our mother should not die. Is there anyone who hears our plea for help?
