This factory located at Tehran’s south terminal has fired the majority of its contractors and contract workers so far.
Currently even hired permanent workers are also in danger of being fired based on different excuses.
Factory’s land and belongings are being looted by the magangement of the factory who are affiliated with the government.
The laborers have gathered several times in protest inside the factory but regime’s elements have not paid any attention to their demands so far.

The problem of short interval contracts
Isfehan, Naeen Shahr, April 24, 2010
- Laborers of Naeen township are facing problems in signing their work contracts. These contracts state short interval hirings. The workers can state no conditions for their job otherwise they will be fired.
All the share holders of Naeen have direct or indirect connections with highrank officials of Khamenei’s regime.
Laborers movement has been established there after the election by some engineers and it is underground. They try to enlighten the workers in the factories and sometimes they have discussions in public.
Some new cities have joined the laborers movement. These cities enjoyed active factories before a few years ago and they were counted amongst industrial cities but because the youths of the city started political struggle these cities became the subjects of regime’s wrath:
-    in Ghaemshar two textile factory and one gunny factory were closed
-    in Zirab coalwashing factory lost its activity
-    in Behshahr a textile factory was doomed
-    in Neka an oil factory was closed
All these factories were bankrupted by predetermined policies which led to the firing of their laborers.

Fired workers forced to misery
Qazvin, April 25, 2010
- A worker fired from Alborz Tile Factory said: “to be able to live we have to do any work possible. We are a great number of fired workers and we are having a painful destiny. Our wives and children are hungry. We are even ready to work in different factories on any condition but still we can find no job. Workers are being fired on daily bases from all factories and enterprises.
I work in a gas station. I have a wife and two kids. For 12 hours work and two extra hours I receive only 130000 tomans per month (poverty line is 700000 tomans per month as indicated by regime’s elements and 1000000 tomans as indicated by economic experts). If I protest this amount of wage I will be fired at once.
Those who talk of Islam and are occupying high positions do they feel what pain and poverty is? Where should we get money for our rent or even buying just some bread?

Article:  What is going on in Shiraz’s factories
April 25, 2010
- A factory guard: “the factory is actually closed here. Workers went to Labor Bureau to protest. Since 2months ago they have’nt received their wages. They haven’t received the bonus for the new year. Only a few are left here to watch over the factory the others are gone to receive unemployment insurance. It is about 3 months that the factory is closed. There is no material to be used for production. The workers are desperate. It is not only our factory’s problem. Narjengton Factory, Shiraz Long Distance Communication Company too are in the same condition. Shiraz’s factories and companies have lots of problems. They say that we receive subcidy what subcidy we paid 10000 tomans for electricity last month now we have to pay 20000 tomans this month where are these subcidies”?

Shiraz’s Plant Oil Factory
April 25, 2010
- A laborer of the factory: “we haven’t received our wages for three months. Whoever is retired will not receive his rights of years of services right away. Each two months they give us 500000 tomans. We are doomed. The reason for all this; there is not enough production. We receive a little oil. Nobody dares to say anything whether he is a hired worker or a contarct worker. If we do then we have to go and beg in the streets to provide our lives or we have to go and borrow money. If we are tenants then we have to live in the streets. What should we tell our kids. They don’t understand any of these. We are eating stones for food!
It is for two years that they don’t give us anything to drink in the factory its only plain cheap food. Though I have a house and both I and my wife work we still cannot provide our family.
On May Day they give us some money to decieve us. If we protest we are fired. They used to give us rice, eggs,… before but these days we receive nothing.
A worker is the supporting arm of the country but now a worker is nothing, is a dead man.

Shiraz’s Long Distance Communication Company
April 25, 2010
- A representative of the workers of this company said: “those retired do not received the right of their years of services. The company has no money to pay. We just try to keep the company alive. Nobody is satisfied with the wages.

Expelled soft drink factory workers stage protest in Tehran

Two hundred and fifty workers of the Sassan Soft Drink Factory in Tehran staged a protest outside this factory at 9:30 am on April 24. They were protesting the expulsion of 650 workers in this factory.
These workers chanted, "Food is our inalienable right" and "establishing labor unions is our inalienable right".
From last November, regime elements privatized the company under the pretext of having financial problems and gradually started to fire workers. Around 650 laborers were fired by March without receiving any compensation. The families of these workers are on the verge of falling apart because of poverty and not being able to provide a livelihood. According to these workers, their lives 'have fallen apart'. These workers have said that if their problems are not dealt with, all the expelled workers will gather outside the factory in the next few days.

As we near International Labor Day, we unite with these laborers and call on all workers and especially those with a conscience to stand up to this government. Without doubt, with solidarity and resistance, we shall overcome.

Marvdasht Azmayesh Factory workers go into 29th day of strike
The strike of the Marvdasht Azmayesh Factory workers has entered its 29th day.
These workers have gone on a strike and halted all the production lines staging a sit-in in the factory everyday in protest to the expulsion of laborers, lack of job security and their financial problems.
One of the workers in this factory said that it is close to one month that workers have staged this strike in protest to the incorrect economical policies of the government and the treatment of workers, but no one has so far answered their demands. He also stressed that the financial state of workers is extremely deplorable.
Workers cannot afford to pay rent and their debts and this can lead to the destruction and separation of their families. Some workers have been forced to sell cigarettes in the streets.
As we near International Labor Day, we intend to unite and convey our voice to everyone in protest to these pressures against workers.
