Chain holidays for minimizing Bazaar’s strike
Tehran, July 11, 2010
The clerical regime announced that Sunday and Monday are holidays in Tehran and some other cities in which Bazaars are on strike on the excuse of hot weather. This was such an ignominy that even regime’s media and elements protested that:
In an article titled ‘Chain Holidays on the Excuse of Excessive Heat and Some Points’ Jomhori daily affiliated with Khamenei wrote: “government announced Sunday and Monday of this week as holidays in Tehran and 19 other provinces for the excessive heat for the farewell of the people”.
The source continues: “though the weather is hot in Tehran and some other cities of the country... but it is not unusual and unprecedented and it has never been a holiday because of that in Tehran. Tehran’s weather is lower in temperature from many southern cities of the country and people go at work in those cities... This temperature will continue for some days so will the holidays continue? If not what would be the meaning of this two-day holiday”?
In another event Zolfaghar Shariat responsible for Cultural Unit of Laborers House in Bandar Imam and Mahshar in Khozestan Province said: “in Khozestan the temperature of above 50 C didn’t make the authorities to think of announcing a holiday but two third of this heat in Tehran made them to announce a public holiday. It is for years that unbearable heat and dust is bothering the residents of Khozestan but even once the authorities didn’t close the bureaus in this province...So we can conclude that if Ahwaz was the capital it would have been in holidays 5 months a year for the heat and 7 other months for dust and floods”.

The most current report from Central Bank says that debts of Ahmadinejad’s government in last February were more than 54 billion dollars which has increased 21% in comparison with its previous year. ‘Banks have not been able to receive 40 billion dollars of what the government owed them”.
According to bank regulations if a bank is not able to receive more than 20% of what it has lent, the bank will be announced as bankrupted. According to this law most of the regime’s banks are bankrupted.
As the result banks cannot lend money to factories and thus the factories are closed, workers are jobless and the recession has spread.
Ahmadinejad’s government also has a 60000 billion rials budget deficit and this increases the economy crisis. This deficit means borrowing more money from banks which will increase the amount of cash and will cause more inflation.
Ahmadinejad’s government did have 400 billion dollars of oil income since he came to office but the money is spent on suppression, export of terrorism and regime’s nuclear project.
