Following three days of protest in Bazaar, Kayhan Daily, Khamenei’s organ quoted Ghasem Noodeh Farahani the head of regime’s Council of Guilds that 70% increase in taxes was a rumor.
Farahani said that the guilds can pay day taxes which is due on July 22 by 40%.

Khamenei reacts to sanctions

In a strong reaction to the international sanctions against the clerical dictatorship, Khamenei issued directives under the title of ‘General Policies for Consumption’.
The directives emphasize that the culture of ... must be propagated especially in regard with foreign goods, the consumption of energy must reduce to two third the current amount and there should be ... in usage of water.
By this deceptive policy instead of providing people with their necessities of life the clerical regime wants to solve its own problem.
Khamenei calls on people to ... while the international sanctions are aimed at IRGC and regime’s quests for achieving nuclear bomb.

The head of regime’s AEO conceded that the International sanctions have affected regime and said: “about the enrichment issue we might have some problems in providing some equipments such as measuring equipments.
Visiting Booshehr’s nuclear power site he said that this is destiny that this site has not become operative ‘so that Iran’s specialists would gain experience. One of the most important problems about the construction of the site is educating human force which is very valuable for us’!

Jafari: preserving the Establishment is the most important duty of IRGC

Jafari the General Commander of IRGC expressing his fear from the inevitable destiny of the clerical dictatorship called the most important task of IRGC as preserving the Establishment in the current situation.
Talking amongst some Bassijies in North Khorasan Province he said: “today preserving the Islamic Establishment and its achievements is one of the most important tasks and it is crucial”.
Expressing his concern Jafari added: “in that accord IRGC and Bassij have a key role because the enemy is trying full force to diverge the course of the revolution”.

Mullah Ahmad Khatami horrified of the sanctions against IRGC

Mullah Ahmad Khatami a member of the board of directives of regime’s Assembly of Experts while worried said in last Friday Prayer: “the sharp edge of the Security Council’s recent resolution (of sanctions) aims at IRGC”.
Mullah Khatami threatened the world and said: “if you execute any part of this resolution -sea, land and trade- be sure that the Islamic Establishment will strongly react”.
About the uprising of July 9 Khatami said: “this was a great sedition which was nullified by the presence of people (read regime’s suppressive forces). In was clear that then president of US fully supported the rioters”.
Addressing the head of three powers Khatami added: “know that whatever you have is from Velayat-e-Faghih and if it wasn’t for this support you wouldn’t have been legitimate...”

IRGC’s news agency desperate of PMOI’s global credibility

On Friday July 9 Fars news agency belonging to IRGC expressed its fear from the global credibility of PMOI especially after its huge gathering in Paris. The agency showed its concern about the fact that the appeasement policy towards the regime is in dead-end and it has been proved to the world that the solution for Iran is Iran’s resistance and NCRI as the Alternative for the regime.
The agency wrote: “an American newspaper pointed that sanctions are not good enough for stopping Iran’s nuclear program and suggested that US must support Iran’s dissident groups especially the terrorist group of Hypocrites (the name regime calls PMOI)”.

A female Kurd political prisoner on hunger strike

Zainab Bayazidi a Kurd political prisoner in Zanjan Prison went on hunger strike.
Her mother said that this act was in protest against the improper behavior of the head of prison with female prisoners.
Zainab must pass a 4 years term along with corporal punishment two years of which have passed.

Regime’s suppressive forces under cover

In a new suppressive plan the clerical regime has organized its suppressive forces under the cover of private security enterprises.
One of these enterprises is ‘Nazmgostar Hamed’ headed by Habibollahi a Brigadier General and the deputy of Brigadier General Alipoor the deputy commander of Great Tehran’s SSF. The main office of this enterprise is located in Palestine Street close to Palestine Square.
Alipoor has tasked the forces of this enterprise to patrol around Enghelab Square in days of July 6 to July 9 the days of the anniversary of Students Uprising in 1999.

Iran sets heavy bail for human rights activist

The Revolutionary Court in Tehran has set a 150 million toman (about 150,000 dollar) bail for the release of blogger and human rights activist Abdolreza Ahmadi.
Ahmadi is a member of the ‘Iran House of Human Rights’ who was arrested on March 3, 2010 by security forces and has been detained in cellblock 2A in Evin Prison.
According to reports, Ahmadi only had 3 visits with his family in these four months.

Khajeh Nasir students denied exam grades because of ‘improper veiling and relationship with opposite sex’

With the end of the semester exams in the Khajeh Nasir University in Tehran, in the past week, a number of professors in the electricity and mechanics colleges have refused to give a number of students their grades because of what they called ‘improper veiling’ and ‘improper clothing’.
In one incident, one of the professors in the mechanics college who is also in the position of an assistant in the university only put a dash next to the names of a number of (male and female) students and said that receiving their final grades was subject to them signing a pledge regarding their attire and their relationship with other students (of the opposite sex).

Story of student who was arrested and killed under torture in Kahrizak Death Camp last year

A new picture shows slain student Amir Javadi Far is a gathering in Azadi Square which was probably taken on June 15, 2009 when one million protesters marched in Tehran.
Amir Javadi Far was an industrial management student at the International Qazvin University, a musician, and actor. He was severely beaten by plainclothes agents on July 9, 2009 in the Zhandarmeri intersection in the Amir Abad region and was then taken to police station 147 in Tehran.
He was in critical condition in the police station because of the beatings and was taken to the Firouzgar Hospital and then transferred to the Kahrizak Detention Center where he was struck with boots in the head and chest and one of his eyes ruptured and his suffered internal bleeding in his lungs. He suffered convulsions and a heart attack while being transferred to Evin Prion on July 14.
Ten days later, his family was notified and was told to collect his body. On July 27 his bloody injured body was buried in section 211/ row 42/ grave number 10 in Behesht Zahra Cemetery in Tehran.

17 civil rights activists in Tabriz Intelligence Detention Center

With the transfer of Hassan Rahimi Bayat, a Turk civil rights activist and resident of Karaj, to the Tabriz Intelligence Center, there are now 17 civil rights activists confined in the solitary cells of this prison.
Hasan Rahimi Bayat is a well known Azeri and human rights activist who was arrested on July 3 in his place of work and was transferred to Evin Prison. He has been transferred to Tabriz for further interrogations.

Iran hangs four people: report

The clerical dictatorship hanged four men in prison in the central city of Isfahan the ISNA news agency reported, quoting a statement from the judiciary.

Iran sentences journalist to one year of prison

Journalist and human rights activist Sasan Aqayi was sentenced to one year of prison by the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran.
He was charged with ‘propagandist activities against the government’ and the judge gave this journalist the maximum punishment for this charge.

Iran MP: the names of convicted Kahrizak guards, affiliated with death of post-election prisoners, will not be announced to media

A member of the special parliamentary committee for the pursuit of post-election incidents said that announcing the names of those who have been sentenced to death in the Kahrizak case at this time is against the law. (The two men were convicted of affiliations in the death of post-election protesters in Kahrizak in an Iranian court)…
In answer to a question on whether the names of these convicts would be announced when their sentences are finalized Farhad Tajari said, “That depends on the decision of the authorities and if relevant authorities think it suitable, the names of the convicts will be given to the media but publishing them at this time is against the law”…
It is not clear why Farhad Tajari says that Kahrizak convicts’ names cannot be announced when their sentences have not been confirmed while the names of many people who are accused of fabricated charges by the Judiciary are not kept hidden.

Iran agents continue harassment of Tehran Bus Company unionists

On Wednesday June 30, a bus which belonged to labor activist Amir Kharazi was suspiciously set on fire in the middle of the night and completely burned in the flames in Islam Shahr. Kharazi had bought this bus on a loan and when he was suspended from work because of his unionist activities, he used the bus as a means to support his family.
Three other drivers in the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company who were also unionists and suspended from work used the bus as a source of income for their families.
Before this, intelligence agents had prevented the suspended bus drivers from being hired in private companies and threatened companies to refrain from hiring suspended drivers.
Amir Kharazi was arrested in 2005 after widespread strikes by the drivers in the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company and was detained for several weeks in Evin Prison. He was also suspended from work two times. The first time he was suspended for six months for participating in a strike in 2005 and the second time he was suspended for a year for his unionist activities. He was denied his wages and other benefits in both incidents.

Prison officials refuse to give urgent treatment to jailed political prisoner

Khaled Hardani, a political prisoner in Rajayi Shahr Prison in is critical condition because of his numerous illnesses and gastric hemorrhage and security and judicial officials refuse to treat him in hospital.
Hardani was sent to Rajayi Shahr Prison from Evin in 2006 for the second time. He is sentenced to life in prison on charges of disrupting the security of a flight plane, seven years of prison for political activities in prison, 5 months of prison for disrupting the prison order and insulting prison officials and six years of exile to Khash.
After 3,500 days of prison, Khaled Hardani has been denied the basic rights of a prisoner despite his urgent need for medical treatment.

Prison officials threaten torture witnesses in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj

According to reports, two political prisoners who witnessed the torture of jailed academic Rasoul Bodaqi were summoned and threatened.
On Tuesday July 6, two prisoners who witnessed the severe beating of jailed academic Rasoul Bodaqi in June were summoned to the Inspections Department of Gohardasht Prison and were asked to state what they witnessed. The head of inspections, Reza Torabi and an agent and prison guard by the name of Tork who participated in the torture of Mr. Bodaqi were also present in the interview.
The first witness was political prisoner Abbas Tavakoli Berazjani whose brother, Amir Tavakoli Berazjani, was killed under torture in the Shapour Detention Center in Tehran. He detailed the tying up and severe beating of Bodaqi and the insults that were made against his family. While this political prisoner was detailing the torture, Tork cut into his sentence and cried out that he was lying. This prison guard then insulted him and Reza Torabi expressed satisfaction and defended the prison guard.
The second witness, Ahmad Zeid Abadi, was then brought to the Inspection Department. He was also asked to state what he saw and he said that he witnessed the beating and verbal harassment of Bodaqi. When Zeid Abadi wanted to greet his former cellmate, Tavakoli, Reza Torabi, pushed him back with disrespect and prevented the greeting.
When Tavakoli was taken back to cellblock 6, prison guard Qasem Mohammadi, aka Uncle Qasem, who was also present in the torture of Bodaqi, threatened him and said, “Thank you very much! I will be waiting for you”.
Then the head of cellblock 6, Shokri, also threatened Tavakoli that he would be sent to cellblock 1 (known for its horrible conditions and tortures).
Reza Torabi, the head of inspections at Gohardasht Prison has in the past put pressure on a large number of tortured prisoners to prevent them from filing complaints and has forced them into silence.

Teenage son of female political prisoner attempted suicide for second time

The young son of political prisoner Zahra Jabari, who was jailed during recent protests in the country, has attempted suicide twice.
The 17-year-old son of Zahra Jabari attempted suicide due to a poor mental condition because of pressure from security institutions on his family and the poor physical condition of his mother in prison.
Zahra Jabari was arrested on Qods Day and was sentenced to four years of prison by the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court. This political prisoner has had several visits with Tehran Prosecutor Jafari Dolat Abadi and has requested a leave from prison both in written form and orally. The prosecutor has promised that he would accept her request but the judge seeing to her case has refused every time.
She is currently in the female cellblock in Evin Prison.

A death being denied

Ahmad Nejati Kargar is one of the slain of post elections events. Her mother Manzelat Mohammadi has filed a record in judiciary organs to find the killer of his son but the suppressive judiciary organ of regime has closed the file and regime’s TV has announced that the son is alive.
Ahmad died in short while after he was freed from the prison on July 13, 2009. His family was informed of his death on August 8, 2009 announcing the reason of his death unknown.

Iran to patrol parks and mountains for more control on young people

With the coming of summer, the Park and Mountain Police have been set up for the first time in the province of Markazi.
“In light of the importance of providing security in parks and other recreational areas, the State Security Forces has set up the Park and Mountain Police and has stationed 30 teams in 11 regions”, the commander of the State Security Forces in this province said.

Prison leave subject to submission to Islamic Republic for political prisoners

While the lack of news on the condition of a number of political prisoners and the severe illnesses of other prisoners has caused concerns for their families and public opinion, the Tehran Prosecutor has asked political prisoners to write letters of remorse.
A number of the families of political prisoners and jailed journalists have said that the Tehran Prosecutor has told prisoners and their families in visits he had with them three weeks ago that they have to write letters of repentance.
According to these families, the Tehran Prosecutor puts pressure on families not to give interviews to the media promising them that prisoners would be granted leaves from prison while on the other hand he tries to force prisoners to write letters of repentance.

Taxi drivers only have right to turn on radios!

The assistant head of the Municipal Transportation and Traffic in Tehran said, “Taxi drivers are banned from using all musical equipment except the radio”.
“New limitations have not been placed for drivers (in the Chastity and Veil Plan) but using images, CD’s and tapes in taxis was banned from the past”.
“In the periodic controls, inspectors will check that drivers are obligated to these rules and if there are complaints, those drivers will definitely be dealt with”, he added.

Judge tells children’s activist that she should have been executed

On Sunday, July 4, Maryam Zia, a children and women’s rights activist was summoned to the 28th branch of the Revolutionary Court and was tried by Mohammad Moqiseh who was a member of the death commission responsible for the execution of political prisoners in the 1988 massacre. The trial was held despite the fact that the representative of the prosecutor was not present.
Her trial started at about 9:30 am. Moqiseh mistreated her much like intelligence interrogators and raised his voice to make threats and verbally abuse her.
“You are a Monafeq (literally meaning hypocrite used for members and supporters of the PMOI by the regime)”, Mohammad Moqiseh told her in the end. “You should have been executed”.
This children and women’s rights activist was trialed on charges of ‘spreading propaganda against the government’.
Maryam Zia is suffering from physical ailments which she developed in her time in prison and is currently being treated by a specialist.

Iran arrests two Dervishes in Karaj
Karaj- July 7, 2010
Two Dervishes in Karaj, Saied and Ehsan Dashti were arrested.
Security forces entered the home of a Dervish in the town of Karaj and in addition to conducting a search, arrested his two sons and took them to an unknown location.
Some time ago, these two people along with four others were summoned by the Intelligence Department of the Revolutionary Guards Corps in this city.
There is no information on why they were arrested and where they are being kept.


Workers of Iran

200 workers of Tehran’s Bus Driving Company will be fired
Tehran, July 9, 2010
From July 8 the employees of Tehran’s Bus Driving Company, Department of Passengers Control for fast speed buses lines one, two and three have been warned to either comply with the anti-laborer conditions of this company or they will be fired.
They have to put a 2 million tomans bail in the company and some credible personality must guarantee them. Fulfilling such conditions for these workers who are mostly between 18 to 25 years old is impossible and they will most probably be fired.

More than 120 workers in protest

More than 120 workers of Qazvin’s Naz Nakh factory who had not received their wages for 6 months gathered in protest in front of regime’s parliament from July 4 till July 6.
One of the workers said: “the government and officials lie to us...the factory was closed for maintenance for two months and we were supposed to receive the wages for these two months. After two months we were confronted with the closure of the company”. These workers have not been paid 6 months of their wages.

“You now that we are not in a good condition because of the imports from China and everybody are broke. Right now 70% of fabric factories are closed...and now all of a sudden they announce that the taxes have gone up 70% do they want to close Bazaar.
They tried to close Bazaar after Ahmadinejad was elected but we tried to prevent that but now they are giving an excuse to them...
I went to Bazaar and tried to convince them but I wasn’t successful. As I see the crisis will get worse. We must do something that the crisis doesn’t get worse. The government must do anything to open Bazaar on Sunday.
Right now plainclothes and agents of Places Bureau are present in Bazaar all the time and they are checking who has participated in the strike and who has not. They even know that some have come from outside Bazaar provoking them to unrest. Some students leaded them...”

Sanctions and Ahmadinejad’s government close to downfall

The amount of Ahmadinejad’s government’s debt to domestic and non-domestic organs reaches 127 billion dollars. The government tries to control it by increasing taxes, cutting subsidy for gasoline and bread (flour) but these will lay the ground for new unrest.
Nonpayment of governmental debts to banks has made them incapable to provide credit for economical projects and this has caused decrease in job opportunities and production.
About government’s budget Aftab News wrote: “government has 60000 billion Rials of budget deficit.
The protest of merchants of Bazaar can reach the whole country. Tax policies are just chaos; sanctions have paralyzed the trade all these can have affect in shortening regime’s life.
What will have a devastating affect on regime would be increase in gasoline’s price having in mind that gasoline with subsidy will be cut from the coming Fall.
Price of gasoline is a touchstone for increase and decrease in prices of other goods. This will lay the ground for new protests and new unrest.

Increase in price of bread

The government has decided to reduce flour’s subsidy in Fall. This will  highly increase the price of bread which is the most common nutrition for Iran’s poor family.

Shortage of electricity, Qazvin’s resident’s discontent

In Qazvin electricity is cut four to five hours daily and the residents of the province are very discontent. On July 1 right at the time of soccer match between Holland and Uruguay  the electricity was cut and this made people angry and they came by the windows immediately and on the roof tops chanting Allah O Akbar.
