Supporter of PMOI who had spent more than 23 years of his life in prison
Iran refuses to hand over body of executed political prisoner to his family
According to reports, several family members of executed political prisoner and PMOI supporter Ali Saremi went to Kahrizak Detention Center to get custody of Ali Saremi’s body. They were told by Evin Prison agents to go to Kahrizak for the body.
They were initially banned from entering Kahrizak and finally after persisting, security forces told them to leave and bring a letter from Evin Prison.
According to other reports, after widespread reports in the international media about the execution of this 63 year old political prisoner, the Iranian regime is looking to retaliate against his family and therefore arrested a number of his family members on the day he was hanged. They were finally forced to release them last night after harassing and threatening them. Security forces also raided their family shop today and arrested Ali Saremi’s nephew identified as Mohammad.

Ali Saremi, political prisoner and a supporter of PMOI who was executed by the clerical dictatorship on Tuesday dawn Dec. 28, 2010 was born in 1948 in Broojerd. He started teaching at high schools after he graduated from university well knowing five foreign languages.
He spent about 24 years of his live at prisons on the whole suffering different kinds of pressure and torture.
He was incarnated for two years during Shah’s era and was freed by the revolution of 1979. He joined Teachers Movement supporters of PMOI but was arrested after June 20, 1981.
He was imprisoned five times during the rule of religious fascism in decades of 1980s, 1990s, and 2000s and was held in prisons of Gohardasht, Gezelhesar and Evin but each time he was more decisive to continue his struggle after he was freed.
He was last arrested end of summer of 2007 because he attended a ceremony for commemoration of the massacre of political prisoner, 30000 of them, in summer of 1988 and was in prison until the dawn of his execution.
Mr. Saremi has four children and has traveled to Ashraf City (the place of residence of PMOI members in Iraq) in years of 2003, 2004 and 2005.
During these years he was summoned to the reactionary courts of the regime four times but he didn’t accept the charges so they couldn’t allege him with anything in particular.
He was arrested in February 2005 only because he had laid flower on the grave of Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh on behalf of the leadership of the resistance. He was tried on late Fall of 2006 because of that and was condemned to 6 years imprisonment along with being exiled for a year to Minab’s prison.
In 1987 he sent his only son Akbar to Ashraf to join NLA.
During the clash that occurred between henchmen of Evin and his family and the families of other political prisoner on Tuesday for receiving his body Poya, Mahin and Mohtaram Saremi his daughter, wife and sister; Akram Sanjari mother of political prisoner Misagh Yazdan Panah and Hadi and Mahbobeh Mansouri the son and sister of political prisoner Mohammad Ali Mansouri were arrested and taken into Evin Prison.
To cover its crime the clerical regime announced that ‘a member of Mohafeghin grouplet’ was executed on charge of ‘Moharebe’ along with Ali Akbar Siadat the ‘element of Zionist regime’s spying service’.
Regime’s media published the decree of execution of Mr. Saremi as:
“The extinct (Ali Saremi) travelled in 2002 to Monafeghin’s camp called Ashraf and was trained and returned back to the country. Then along with some freed prisoners of this grouplet he started propagating for them. Monafeghin paid him to hold gatherings for the group and publish and distribute a publication called ‘Aryaee Land’. He propagated for Monafeghin publicy at his work and distributed the pictures of its leaders. He attracted some and sent them to Monafeghin’s camp in Iraq. He organized sessions and sent their clips to be broadcasted from Monafeghin’s TV. He actively provided and distributed advertising brochures for Monafeghin and the poster of their leaders to be posted in general places. He was in contact with Monafeghin’s contact centers by the order of the grouplet...”.
Then the media continued that he was condemned to death by article 47 of the law of Islamic Punishment and articles 186, 190 and 191.

A group of political prisoners of ward 2 of Karaj’s Gohardasht Prison sent a message for the martyrdom of Ali Saremi titled ‘Ali Saremi joined the eternity’.
After paying their condolences to the family of Mr. Saremi and all freedom loving people they said; “…neither us ... believed that this cruel decree will be executed. When he was summoned by Intelligence he had a high spirit and he said goodbye to us. We were awaiting his return…and we never believed that our friend has been transferred to Evin Prison for execution…Regime’s officials blocked our calls to outside the prison from fear. All the freedom loving people of Iran must know that in his last days Ali was roomed in corridors of ward 2 because the ward was so crowded to make him even weaker...
The brutal rulers of Iran must know that by suppression and killing struggle of our nation for freedom and social justice will not end. They will gain nothing but notoriety from executing Ali Saremi. Because he, like other who fall for freedom we be alive for ever.

Hussein Naghavi Hosseini a member of regime’s reactionary parliament admitted to aftermaths of subsidy cuts and said: “execution of ‘subsidy overhaul plan’ has faced agriculture with serious problems because of rise in price of gas oil. 50% of water pumps of farmers work with gas oil and the fuel used for tractors is gas oil too”.
He admitted that if the farmers want to buy gas oil in free price they must pay 88 million tomans for each 10000 square meter of land.
Laborers portest in Khozestan

More than 500 laborers of Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Factory and Karoon Shoostar’s Industry gathered in protest in front of the general bureau of regime’s social providence in Khozestan.
These laborers protested against the fact that years of insurance have not been counted for them since 2007.

He said: “I was one of the members of this society. I went to see Mr. Nategh Noori to ask him to return to Cleric’s Society but he didn’t accept my invitation and didn’t answer us”.

Jafari Dolatabadi while announcing the news also added that Ahmadinejad has complained from Ali Motahari, MP and on side of Larijani.

Mullah Hussein Taeb is the intelligence deputy of IRGC and one of the former heads of Bassij who had a great role in killings during 2009-2010 uprisings.

Vast detention of political and civil activist in Sanandaj

Though the clerical dictatorship retreated from executing Habibollah Latifi a Kurd student and political activist due to serious quest by human rights groups and political and civil activists; but since last Monday a group of activists in Sanandaj are either arrested of disappeared.

Students controlled in Yasooj

Students are asked to give their cell phone number to the university on the excuse that the university might want to inform them of something but the students say that the only aim of such plan is controlling our phone calls.

Tehran – Security forces have been stationed on the streets from Saturday night on December 18 in various regions of the city especially in the Azadi, Enqelab, Firdusi, Imam Hossein, Valiasr, Rah Ahan, Monirieh and Vanak squares and they have imposed a martial law. All forces in Tehran are on full alert.
According to reports from the head of a gas station in Northern Tehran, since Saturday, before the subsidy cuts were announced, Bassij, Intelligence Agents, plainclothes agents, national security forces and security forces with 3 or 4 cars which belong to security forces were stationed in this gas station to control the people. Plainclothes agents were still present in the gas station on Sunday and were controlling the people.
Some people were crying over the subsidy cuts. One person in a gas station hit himself on the head after hearing the subsidy cut and said, ‘I came here with 5,000 tomans to fill my tank with 50 liters of gas and now you are telling me to pay 700 to 800 tomans for gas?’
Tehran – 11 am – Security forces are physically controlling all gas stations in Punak, Ariashahr, Azadi, Valiasr, Resalat and Vanak Squares.
Sari – 9 am- People in this town have also made long lines outside of gas stations and the presence of security forces in the gas stations is very noticeable.
Babol- There are also long lines in gas stations in Babol.
Tabriz Dec. 19 – In Tabriz, taxi drivers have gathered outside the centers of natural gas. A number of them have also next to the Pasdaran Highway and near the terminals.
Hamedan Dec. 19 – Since the announcement of the subsidy cuts, taxi drivers in Hamedan have gone on strike and their passengers are forced to walk to their destinations.
“They have not left us breathing space. They want to carry out a policy which says that to rule over Iranians, you have to keep them hungry. I know some people from among my colleagues who cannot even buy one kilo of tomatoes in one month”, a taxi driver said.

Tehran December 18 – 11 pm – In Mohseni Square and Tehranparse there are long lines outside gas stations and security forces have also been stationed there with their vans to make arrests if necessary.
Tehran December 18 – 11 pm – After Ahmadinejad’s speech tonight in which he announced the subsidy cuts and heightened gas prices, people have gone to the gas stations to fill up their tanks with the subsidized gas before the midnight subsidy cut and all the gas stations are crowded. In the main regions of Tehran such as Tajrish, Valiasr, Azadi region, and Khosh armed security forces have been stationed with their automobiles.
Tehran December 18 – 11:30 pm – This SMS has been sent to many cellphones in Tehran: “To Mahmoud (Ahmadinejad): Whatever you said not to do, we will do”.
Tehran-Dec. 18, 2010- People are talking about the subsidy cuts and saying how is it that families in Lebanon are receiving 10 million dollar loans but we can barely afford to buy bread? The people ridicule the subsidy plan and say amongst themselves that we have to wait in the gas line from night to morning and then wait in the bank lines from morning to night.
Tehran, Mashhad, Tabriz, Isfahan – Dec. 18 – After Ahmadinejad’s speech, people have said that large demonstrations would be held but the time and location have not been announced.
Isfahan – Dec. 18- 1am – There are at least 10 motorists waiting in line in each gas station in this city.
Hamedan – After the announcement of the subsidy cut, all banks have gone on alert. The manager of a gas station said that security forces have been stationed in all gas staions and that there are lone lines outside gas stations to the extent that each person has to wait 15 to 30 minutes for gas.
Zanjan – After the subsidy cuts were announced, security forces went on alert mode in Zanjan.
Ahwaz – The price of gas has raised to 700 tomans, last night, security forces forcefully closed all gas stations and told to people to wait until midnight to get gas at 700 tomans without subsidies.
Kermanshah – on Saturday night, several agents were stationed in every gas station to control the people. Today, the banks were very crowded and security forces have been doubled in banks.
Tabriz – after the subsidy cut was announced, long lines of motorists have been made in the Baghamishe Township in Tabriz.
Tehran 12pm – Dozens of agents have been stationed near the Chamran Highway. They do not stand adjacent to the gas station.
Tehran 7 am- Hundreds of agents were stationed in Tajrish Square.
Tehran – in the Tehranpars region, Damavand, Imam Hossein and Shohada Streets, about 5 to 6 security and Bassij forces have been stationed in about 20 gas stations in this region and their cars are also parked in a ready position. The people are saying that the goal of these measures is to prevent a repeat of what happened two years ago when the people torched gas stations in protest to the rationing of fuel.

As the anti-plan of omitting the subsidy of goods started on Sunday Dec. 19, Mohsen Khancharli one of the heads of Great Tehran’s SSF said that a plan called ‘the Plan of Fighting Theft’ is implemented since the morning of the day.
SSF will be present in all regions according to that plan.
He claimed in imposturous words: “this plan is to escalate social security”.
Eyewitnesses said that anti-riot squads are heavily stationed at squares and intersections such as Enghelab Square, Sadeghieh and Vali-e-Asr.
Regime’s fear from PMOI disclosure about omission of subsidies of goods

The clerical regime having the pillars of its rule build on censorship and lies is fearful from the disclosure of PMOI about the terrible situation of the economy and people’s leaving conditions especially when it fears the wrath of people after announcing the omission of subsidy of goods.
Regime’s News Network expressed regime’s fear on Saturday Dec. 18 just a few hours before Ahmadinejad announced the execution of the plan of subsidy, under the title of ‘Monafeghin’s mission in regard with the plan of subsidy’ and said: “at the eve of this huge economic change some members of this ‘grouplet’ are tasked to enter the country in disguise of tourism and go to poor regions and provide foreign media with photos and clips about poverty in different regions”.

Bahman Akhavan, a member of the Industry and Mining Commission in the Parliament expressed concern over the consequences of the subsidy cut and said, “If we are not able to carry out a clean and radical surgery, the reactions of this live specimen will come out in the forms of inflation, waves of bankruptcy and probable protests and then we will be forced to stop the plan which will have a very heavy price”.

Deepening of regime’s schism and crises

The clerical regime tried to provoke an atmosphere of fear and horror in society during last weak at the days of Ashura and the days that it wants to implement the anti- people plan of omitting the subsidy of goods, by issuing verdicts of death penalty in some cities and blinding both eyes of a 29 years old inmate.
But all the suppression could not and will not ease the inner crises of the regime or even cover it.
A sign of these crises which showed up last week inside Ahmadinejad’s cabinet as the result of regime’s international scandals and defeats targeted Manochehr Motaki the highest political personality of regime in foreign policy. He was ousted in a coup de tat-like act by Ahmadinejad while he was on his visit to Africa and was then in Senegal.
In a gathering of Ahmadinejads band an agent of Foreign Ministry said: “delisting of PMOI is an issue that has been brought to discussion several times. Foreign Ministry is so weak that they are de-listed in England and EU. Their issue has become both serious and strange and it is not clear to where this course will lead”.
Of course all those who follow regime’s status know that regime is getting closer to its downfall each week and people of Iran are getting even closer to their victory.
Ahmajinejad absent in Motaki’s farewell ceremony

Mehr state-run news agency wrote: Farewell ceremony for Motaki will be held without the presence of Ahmadinejad. The ceremony will be held on Saturday Dec. 18 in building No.1 of Foreign Ministry and Ahmedinejad’s first deputy Mohammad Reza Rahimi will be present along with the deputies and directors of the ministry.
Motaki ousted, Ahmadinejad gaining control

In his site, Mohsen Rezaie, regime’s former head of IRGC pointed to the ousting of Manoucher Motaki and wrote: ”When the president appointed his especial representatives for different geografical reigions there was this possibility that there would be paralled policies in foreign policy. To stop that with the guidance of the honorable leader of the revolution the president partially retreated and appointed those people as his own advisors. But it seems by his second move, ousting Manoucher Motaki, he has gained his goal”.
The site added: ”in recent years Motaki had to get advice about the foreign policy issues from the high advisor of the president Mojtaba Samareh Hashemi and sometimes from Saeed Jalili, once his advisor and now the secretary of the High Commission for National Security, and some other time from Esfandiar Rahim Mashaee, the head of the government’s office”.
The source then pointed to the fact that about two weeks ago in the last session with the deputies of Foreing Ministry, Motaki spoke as such that one would understand that he will be put aside.

Kayhan Daily, Khamenei’s organ, attacked Rafsanjani

In its political note Kayhan state-run daily threatened Rafsanjani in order to make the ruling class unanimous and wrote: ”A hardliner is someone who clearly declares that he has redlines with the current of ’sedition’. The first question to be asked is how a person or a current acts in regard with the ’sedition’. One year has past but there are still people who have said not even a sentence in condemning the founders of this great treason despite off all they claim. These people will not be welcomed in calling themselves hardliners. They cannot ask to participate in decision makings none the less claiming that they are leaders”!

Regime’s suppressive mercenaries

On Ashura, in fear of the wrath of people, regime deployed its black outfit mercenaries into the streets.
A part of this force actually consists of torturers from Army’s Especial Brigade famous as Brigade No. 65 which is stationed at Base 62 in Afsarieh, Tehran.
3 girls rescued by crowd in Ashura
Dec.16, 2010 – Tehran
In Ashura evening regime’s intelligence agents 3 male and one female arrested three girls in front of Melat Park (north of Tehran) trying to force them into an SSF van but the crowd present bravely attacked the car with sticks and made them to stop and free the three girls. Then the brave crowd escorted the girls out of the region.
SSF station torched by youths at Qhaitarieh region
Dec.16, 2010 – Tehran
Around 12 noon of Ashura a SSF station at the main intersection of Qhaitarieh region which was used for identifying dissident youths leading to their arrests was attacked by youths and all its windows were broken. The agents flew the station from fear of the protesting youths.
Ashkan Sohrabi’s mother summoned to the regime’s Prosecutor Office

During last two days Ashkan Sohrabi’s mother (Ashkan was killed by regime’s suppressive forces during last year’s uprisings) was summoned to regime’s Prosecutor Office in a course of provoking fear and horror among the families of the martyrs of last year’s uprisings.
In another event Mehdi Ramezani, father of Ramin Ramezani another martyr was also arrested along with a number of mothers of other victims of the regime during last year’s uprisings while they were attending a gathering for remembering Amir Arshad Tajmir another martyr of the uprising on his birthday.
Some of the detainees were released later but Mr. Mehdi Ramezani and Ms Hakimeh Shokri and Ms Neda Mostaghimi are still under arrest at Evin Prison and their families have no news of them.

Who is Rahman Froozandeh
Dec.17, 2010 – Tehran
On Dec. 12 regime’s state-run dailies wrote that Rahman Froozandeh the head of regime’s Army Corps 21 was killed while returning from a great land maneuver in south of the country when his car had an accident. There has been no such maneuver announced any where and this corps is not assigned for that area.
Froozandeh participated for 138 months in the war between Iran and Iraq and actively deployed youths to the war front. He then was appointed during the war as the head of battalions at Armored Corps 16 of Qazvin and Khorasan Corps 77 of land forces. He then was appointed to head of Marine Birgade 45 and then as the substitute commander of Khorasan Corps 77 of land forces.
In a speech he named suppression of people of Kurdistan, Torkaman Sahra and Khozestan as army’s most glorious acts.
He was so loyal to Khamenei’s regime that he became the commander of Corps 21 in Fall of 2008. He has also been a high rank commander of the army in East Azerbaijan provinces and Ardebil.

At the end of last spring, Ahmadinejad’s government granted the project of 6 phases from 28 phases of the largest gast field in Iran worthing 21 billion dollars to companies affiliated with (anti) Khatam Al Anbia Base of IRGC after great international oil companies stopped their cooperation with Iran due to sanctions. The two companies envolved now are called ’Iranian Petro Paydar’ and ’Petro Sina’.
The two companies from the start had a low investment and most of the members of the board of directives of these two companies were the same.
The base has left the project half done. This project was supposed to be finished in 35 months but Hamidreza Katoozian the head of Energy Commission at regime’s parliament said: ”the parliament is worried that this project will not be finished on time”.
He added:”During last 9 months the project has progressed only 0.5% instead of 25%”.

The epic of last Ashura, was a huge epic, which should be created again
Ashura is not same as other days. On Ashura, everywhere of the city is busy, the number of people is high and there are mourns all over. Therefore every place can become a place for protest gathering. In Ashura because the presence of the people is high, controlling the crowd is a difficult job for regime. The epic of last Ashura was so huge and we can only recreate it in coming Thursday (Dec. 16, 2010).
Ashura is a cry against the repressive ruling regime
Last year’s Ashura was an epic as big as the Ashura, only the conflict scene was different: Harpoons and swords were replaced by guns and cars of police forces. Otherwise, Yazid was same as the Old Yazid and Hossein was the Hossein. When you see Ahmad Khatami who gives order of acting cruel, it is like that Omar Saed has come out of the grave and is reading sermon for his forces. When Khamenei threatens his opponents for pouring their blood it reminds Yazid. Ashura is a cry against the repressive ruling regime. Another Ashura is in the way, once again by shouting “ Khamenei is a murderer and his rule is a waste, we will shake the present Yazid".
Note: Yazid was the enemy of Imam Hossein (Grandchild of Prophet Mohammad) who was killed by Yazid.

Schism among pasdarn repressive forces
One of the elements of supreme leader exposed that during the Iranian people uprising, some of Pasdaran’s leaders, turned away from Khamenei and stood against him.
Saedollah Zareii, one of the writers of Keyhan newspaper said: Behaviors of Khamenei caused some of the commanders who stood against him to join the leader and become a martyr. It is our responsibility today to clear this for the people.
He also confessed to Khameini’s discredit and said: unfortunately in speeches they say less about Khamenei, this is while in the time of Imam Khomeini we used to say a lot about him.
He pointed out to swear said about the supreme leader and said: shouldn’t we react against the insults made about him? What is our responsibility?
Ahmadi Moghadam, proved the increase of executions
Ahmadi Moghadam, head of Mullah’s police forces, proved the increase of executions and said: If Ayatollah Larijani’s plan for an armed burglar is definitely, execution, and is added to judicature, this will effect on preventing crimes.
He who was speaking among some of the police force officials, said: recently we are witnessing speed action and decisive decisions in crimes, I think if we continue to act like this, definitely there will be reduction in such crimes, but if we delay in act against these crimes, it will reduce its effectiveness and it will not have any preventing signs. We are very optimistic on the attitude of judicature.
Barbaric attack of government agents to sleeping units of Zahedan University
On Thursday around 9 pm, a group of security officers, attacked to Zahedan University and by breaking windows and doors, hit the students and grabbed ten students.
At 9pm, masked security forces attacked to a house of students, where active students of Sistan university were studying there, and by breaking doors and windows, attacked and hit the students and took number of them by two white vans to an unknown place.
Most of the students were from active students of this university. Security agents of Zahedan have not given any news of their holding place, to their families yet.
Names of some of the grabbed students are: Behnam Barahouii, Mousa Rahimi, Mahdiyeh Sarbandi and Seyyed ali.
On the students day there was a calm gathering in this university.

Iran arrests Christians in Pakdasht

On Sunday November 14, 10 converted Christians were arrested in the town of Pakdasht. A child, four women and five men were among the detainees. These detainees were transferred to the Pakdasht Intelligence Agency and after interrogations were transferred to court. But two of the men identified as Mohammad Mohammadi and Ali Keshavarz were transferred to the Kharvin Prison. These people were all arrested in a religious ceremony in Mohammad Mohammadi’s home. All the detainees were released on bail after a few days but unfortunately Ali Keshavarz and Mohammad Mohammadi are still in prison. They are banned from visits and phone calls with their families.
Prisoner attempts suicide in prison denied timely treatment

A prisoner jailed in Rajayi Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison in Karaj attempted suicide.
According to reports, Rohollah Nourozi who was detained in this prison on financial charges attempted suicide for being kept in an undetermined state in prison for 11 months.
Prison officials only gave him medical attention after a few hours and he is currently in the prison infirmary.
Notably, the lack of medical attention for prisoners is one of the main concerns for prisoners in this prison.
Blogger kept under inhuman conditions and in a state of limbo in Gohardasht Prison

According to reports, a jailed blogger is in critical condition and in a state of limbo in cellblock 1 in Gohardasht Prison in Karaj.
Jailed prisoner Mohammad-Reza Pourshajari was able to have a visit with his family from behind a glass partition after 4 months of solitary in cellblock 1 and the Sepah Cellblock in this prison. His family has said that he was in poor physical health and had become extremely thin.
Pourshajari was arrested on September 12 after intelligence agents raided his home. He was physically and mentally tortured and insulted for one week by intelligence interrogators in a solitary cell in the Sepah Cellblock.
His daughter is under constant pressure and interrogation in Mashhad by an intelligence interrogator known by his nickname as Mohammadian who is a member of the Mashhad Intelligence Agency. He has threatened Ms. Pourshajari that if she gives interviews to the media or talks to human rights organizations about her father’s condition, she will be arrested. This interrogator has interrogated and threatened Ms. Pourshajari several times.
Unknown virus spreads in Gohardasht Prison while officials deny prisoners medical attention

In the past few weeks, an unknown virus has spread amongst prisoners in Rajayi Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison in Karaj and the heads of the infirmary have not done anything to treat those infected with the virus.
Nine prisoners in halls 10 and 11 in Cellblock 4 in this prison have been infected with this virus. Two of them identified as Reza Sharifi Bukani and Misaq Yazdan Nejad are in poor condition.
The initial symptoms of this virus are runny noses, diarrhea, severe coughs and black eye pupils.
The prison infirmary prescribes ordinary medicine to the infected prisoners and has not taken any serious measures to treat them.
Gohardasht Prison guards violently attack political prisoners

According to reports, on Friday December 10 at about 9 pm, prison guards attacked the cells of political prisoner Behrouz Javid Tehrani and Jafar Eqdami and harassed and abused them. This inhumane treatment went on for a long time.
The prison guard who was the commander of this violent attack was Zinali.

Riot police and Special Guards Forces in the State Security Forces have gone on full alert in the impoverished regions of western Iran on the verge of the implementation of the Smart Subsidy Plan to prevent widespread protests and reactions from the people. These forces have gone into full alert as directed by a secret announcement to create an atmosphere of fear and terror and prevent any kind of protests the people may have in reaction to this plan and high prices. In the past week in the Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Ilam and Lorestan, riot police carried out military marches. These forces were equipped with electric batons and tear gas and put on a show of power in groups of 30 in the main and crowded centers of these towns. These forces have been stationed in these areas and have carried out strict security measures.
In light of the high figures of unemployment and poverty in western Kurdish areas in Iran, the government is afraid of protests in these areas and has readied its forces for all kinds of popular reactions.

A pro-government cleric who is a member of the Association of Teachers and Researchers of the Qom Seminary School disclosed some of the things that were said in visits with Khamenei in Qom and said that Khamenei stressed on his support for Ahmadinejad.
Alireza Islamian said, “Some friends said some things and his holiness (Khamenei!) said in answer that ‘I have supported all the governments but this government is different from former governments and the main difference is that they do not try to make a dual government (as opposed to a unified government)’… in the past the enemy wanted to make a dual government and in some circles, some people were looking to force such a state on the government saying that the government and parliament oppose the leader which is the center of the system, but this is not the case”.
Islamian quoted Khamenei and said, “If the leader says something now, the president accepts and acts accordingly and this is a very important issue which is the opposite of what is shown and imagined that Mr. Ahmadinejad does not listen to the leader. His honor stressed that this is not the case”.
“Today when the president or a top official goes abroad, I am not worried, but I was worried before about what officials wanted to say abroad”, this cleric quoted Khamenei as saying.

Burning flames which burn night and day and they melt to show our historic way, that the snake shoulder, Zahhak is being fed by brains of youths and instead of becoming wise, it is becoming greedier for power.(Referring to Khamenei).

Following the murder of two physicians in recent months in Tehran, one of the police officials told about the murder of another one.

Fabric merchants in the Tehran Bazaar have decided to go on strike and close their shops if the 3 percent VAT laws is implemented by the Tax Organization.
This decision has been made by fabric merchants without the knowledge of Fabric Merchants Union and in reaction to the remarks of the head of the Taxing Organization which is affiliated with the government.
“The Taxing Organization has still not dared approach merchants in the Bazaar, especially fabric merchants who are experiencing a slow business”, a merchant said.
On Wednesday, Asgari, the head of the Taxing Organization announced to the press that this week they would approach retailers from this week for the VAT and that this is law and everyone had to follow it.
Golestan miners work 300 days without wages

Miners in the Roudbar and Qeshlaq villages in eastern Golestan have said that their wages have not been given to them for the last 10 months.
According to a number of these miners, those in charge of the mine have invested in other sectors instead of paying their miners.
This is while the heads of the industry and mine sectors in Golestan say they are not aware of this issue. Also, a number of Eastern Alborz coal miners did not go to work for a few days last week because they had not received their wages in the past few months.
Work in the mines which has many dangers and the lack of wages has exhausted these impoverished workers.
Golestan has 21 active mines and in the first half of the year more than 179 tons of material, mostly coal, has been mined.

Reza Khandan, lawyer Nasrin Sutodeh’s husband said in an interview that she is still on a dry hunger strike (refuses to eat and drink) and expressed concern over her condition. He said that if anything were to happen to Mrs. Sutodeh, all responsibility would lie with judicial and security officials.
He also said that her lawyer Nasim Ghanavi visited her in prison yesterday and said that in addition to the charge of acting against national security and conspiring and assembling she was also charged with being a member of the Center of Human Rights Defenders…
“According to Ms. Ghanavi, Nasrin has become extremely thin and was not even able to talk”, her husband said regarding her condition in prison.
Mr. Khandan who has not been allowed to visit his wife in prison and only had 3 short phone conversations with her said, “I do not know what they have done to her. When her sister asked her if she was under pressure she did not answer, as if she did not have the power to answer. Unfortunately we do not know what they have done to make Nasrin become oblivious to her own life and safety”.

According to reports from the Iranian Ministry of Wealth, the state of this ministry is messy like other ministries. An official in this ministry said that many RGC officials who have large property are trying to register their estates under the name of their relations who they trust so that if things get messy, their properties are not seized. This person who works with the registering books gets money from RGC commanders to solve this issue for them.
Because of the plundering of RGC heads, the body of this force is dissatisfied and many of them defy orders. Many of them talk about the mansions and other estates that these officials have and express dissent.

According to reports from eyewitnesses, despite severe suppression by the Iranian regime, the people who are faced with this suppression are very aggressive with regime forces. The people are not afraid anymore and regime forces can do nothing about it and are on the defensive. Regime forces have even been forced to lower the arrests over social issues and improper veiling compared to a few months ago. Regime forces would rather not clash with people. On the other hand, problems and pressures on the people have led them to not follow rules and regulations.
Three weeks ago, traffic police stopped a motorcycle driver for not stopping for a red light. The biker parked his motorcycle and beat the police officer.
The security conditions are very bad and women and girls cannot be out after 10 or 11 pm. They are not safe from being stabbed, kidnapped or taken hostage for money.
Despite the serious pressure of raising prices, people say that they are willing to tolerate the pressures because of the sanctions to get rid of the regime. The realty business is still stagnant. Despite the fact that the price of property has almost decreased by half, people still do not buy any property.
In government offices, about 90 percent of employees take bribes to make a living. Without this, they cannot make a living and people’s problems will not be solved. Addiction is also a major problem and the Iranian regime actually encourages this with various methods.

For example, the price of Tehran-Mashad has increased from 47 dollars to 61 dollars. This is a part of regime’s plan in increasing price.
According to officials, after the cancellation of tax, the price of flight tickets will increase once again.
At the same time, Hosseini, wealth minister of Ahmadinejad declared that from next month price of every liter of petrol will be 0.4 dollars, it means 4 times higher than the present price.

Due to the corrupt system ruling our country and its policies that work against its own people which can be clearly seen in the economical field, the sanction are swiftly showing its effects.
In this brief we would like to inform you of the facts followed by the positions taken by regime officials against sanctions and their remarks in this regard.
Facts:
Bushehr
Gasoline shortage and the fact that taxi drivers are not able to buy gasoline at a price as high as 400 tomans per liter (almost 30 cents per liter) has left taxi passengers without any kind of transportation. Most of these taxi drivers have brought their vehicles through loans; without being able to work they are not able to even pay their loans back.
Khuzestan Province- Asaluieh
Almost 70,000 workers were fired from Asaluieh Petro-Chemical industry
As the sanctions have taken their toll on this industry, almost 70,000 workers have been ousted from Petro-Chemical industry which is one of the biggest industries of its kind.
Only about 4,000 workers and employees are left in this industry. This shows that claims by regime officials that sanctions have not affected us, is nothing but a lie.

Long working hours and low wagers in Iran Khodro Factory
A student with a high level of education who had applied for a job at Iran Khodro in Shiraz said, "The wage for 14 hours of work from 7am to 9 pm is only 400,000 tomans. Even if they pay the wage on time, considering the expenses in Iran this amount is practically nothing".
Shahre Kord: Factory closed down
A factory in the industrial center of Shahre Kord that made car parts is half closed.
The managers have told the factory's workers not to come for work for the time being.
Apparently the factory has been affected by sanctions imposed on ran by South Korea.
Recession of industry in Charmahale & Bakhtiari
Research by a group of students show that 70 percent of factories in this province are under recession.
"When we referred to most of the factories we saw that they are closed and there is only a guard present who is turn complains that he has not received his wages for the last six months. This led us to interview the owner of the one of the closed factories. Mr. Sh said that in 1999 I represented the plan for the factory and it was endorsed in 2002. I received a loan of 600 million tomans from the Meli Bank and I started the construction of the factory. The first products came out in2008. Some sections of the factory were still under construction but we had to pay back the loans so we started the production.

A truck owner said, “When gasoline was 16 tomans per liter I took a truck full of wheat from Bandar Abbas to Hamedan on a cost of 700,000 tomans for the customer but when gas is 200 tomans per liter, I will not carry that good even for the price of 700,000 tomans”.
“As the price of fuel rises some people raise the price of their goods or services. This will lead to several percent of inflation. Everybody is horrified because of that. If this happens, Iran’s economy is doomed. I was talking to some other people. They all emphasized that when a government is not capable of keeping the price of potato and onion constant throughout fall and winter how can it claim economic programs and speak of managing the world”.
Government projects stopped; effect of sanctions
A constructor said that some projects in regard with the construction of a gym have been stopped due to sanctions. When asking the reason the person responsible for the project said that due to sanctions many projects are in jeopardy and it is possible that they will also be stopped at any moment.

Taking a hollow gesture of power Ahmadinejad addressed those who impose the sanctions and said, “Impose sanctions as much as you wish. Each device and equipment that you don’t sell to us we will produce. Our youths, specialists, managers and craftsmen are ready to build and are capable of it”.
Another good for nothing position by Ahmadinejad: “They say that they will put gasoline in their list of sanctions, this is my wish. We will substitute 17 million liters in two days. Every step is taken for that and its key is in our hands. What even they put in the list of sanctions our specialists will substitute it with a better on in a few months. Do you want to impose sanctions on the faith, will, motives and love of a great nation?”

The Defense Minister of the Islamic Republic said that important defense projects will start from August 12. He called this the practical answer to sanctions imposed by the west.
Mehr news Agency reporter that Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi the Minister of Defense and Armed Forces has announced, “As August 12 is named ‘the day of the defense industry’ and having in mind the unique and tactical role of the defense and armed forces logistics ministry in the progress of Islamic Republic of Iran’s defense industry the start of tens of important and astonishing defense project on that day will be the practical answer to the enemy’s sanctions and it will be progress of Iran”.
The Defense Minister pointed out that the Islamic Republic of Iran’s industry is at its peak thanks to former defense ministers, great martyrs, such as Chamran Fakoou and Namjou and is Iran’s experienced mangers and specialists and added, “On this day the proud children of the Iranian nation at the Defense Ministry will prove once more that threatening Iran and imposing sanctions on it have no effect and the Islamic Republic of Iran will continue its pure existence while it is more experienced and progressive each day.

Thousands of unfinished industrial plans have been abandoned

Thousands of half finished industrial plans have been abandoned and billions of tomans have become useless.
Nineteen thousand and 583 industrial plans have been abandoned in Iran. In addition to this, close to 50 thousand billion tomans (about 50 thousand million dollars) has been abandoned. This amount of money could have created 682 thousand new jobs. These plans have been abandoned in all the cities of Iran. For example, with 2,536 unfinished industrial plans, East Azarbaijan has the most unfinished plans in the country.
Also Mazandaran has the most of unfinished plans among Northern provinces with 1,494 plans; Khuzestan Province has 613 unfinished plans which makes it the highest number among Southern provinces.
Some of these plans have only been carried out up to 20 percent and have then been stopped. The most important element behind this is the fact that investments have been stolen by government officials, investments have altogether decreased and machinery and equipment is not provided to continue these projects. The economical crisis in Iran has also led to a decrease of investments compared to previous years and has added to the problems for these projects.
Giving Loans to regime’s close sides

About $ 50 Milliard bank loans have been given to the 100 persons of regime’s close sides. This is at a time that there are numbers of growing unemployed and these loans have done nothing in creating jobs in the country.
According to Ilna (state run new agency), Hassan Allahverdinejad, secretary general of RefahEslami party of Iran, has expressed his sorrow of this news and said, even the assurances of these loans which has been given to the bank instead does not meet with the realities of country’s economy. For example the price of a land of $10 Milliard at the time giving assurance it will be estimated as $100 milliard. How that is when a worker or an employee who needs a loan of $500, he has to put forward number of checks, credits and so on. But the banking system of the country without any calculations gives loans of milliards to them.
Hassan Allahverdinejad confirmed that these 100 people who have been given $50 milliard are economic terrorists.
Including to this, judiciary system should instead of being after those who get loans of milliards, should be after managers of these banks. Those who give these high loans to some people should be in jail. But instead unemployed are being put into prisons. He emphasized: I am sorry to say that one of the manager of these governmental banks have the residential of 3 countries Canada, England and America and his wife and children are all live abroad.

A girl in order to secure her parent’s roof, is selling her kidney and eye
Vatan Emrouz newspaper reported, a girl who had a scorch accident, for her plastic surgery, she asked for financial donation. In that report there was a need for a girl who 14 years ago in an accident and for the surgery she needed 35000 $. On the other hand her parents sold all their belongings for their daughter’s surgery and then the owner of their house threw them out so they sleep in park. This newspaper wrote today, this was only one side of the story, now she doesn’t want to have surgery anymore, now she wants to sell her kidney and eye to buy a roof for her parents and her two sisters. She said that she doesn’t expect support from anybody but she intends to sell her eye and kidney to rescue her family from tearing apart.

Fars press reported of a meeting of Ahmadinejad with five members of Assembly of Experts and absence of mullahs who supported Ahmadinejad.
In this meeting MesbahYazdi, Jannati and Yazdi did not take part.

The sentence of Iranian blogger Hossein Derakhshan was announced today to his lawyer.
According to a sentence which was issued today by the 15th branch of the Revolutionary Court in Tehran headed by Judge Salavati, Derakhshan who was arrested in October 2008 was sentenced to 19 and a half years of prison, a five year ban on membership in parties and media activities and returning funds given to him in the amount of 3,750 Euros, 2,900 dollars and 22 British pounds on charges of cooperating with hostile countries, propagating against the Islamic government, advertising for anti-revolutionary grouplets, insulting sanctities and running and managing immoral websites.
Hossein Derakhshan was one of the first to blog in Farsi and wrote about himself, politics and the Iranian culture in both Farsi and English in his weblog called ‘My Own Editor’.

Lava Khanjani, a Baha’i who has been banned from continuing her education because of her faith and was arrested on January 3, 2010 was sentenced to two years of prison.

A resident of the Salemaneh Village in Marivan was sentenced to 10 years of prison.
Gharib Fatemi, 45, who was arrested nine months ago by security forces, was sentenced to 10 years of prison.
He was charged with cooperating with dissident parties and is currently in the Marivan Central Prison. According to those close to this Kurd activist, he was denied the right to a lawyer in all the stages of his legal procedure.

According to reports, the Protection Department of the Tehran and Suburbs Bus Company are trying to force the employees of this company to sign pledges that they will not talk to internal or external press about company problems.
In the past few days, under the orders of the Protection Department, it has been announced in all districts that employees in Tehran have to sign a pledge which says that all drivers are committed not to talk about the issues of the company including the condition of detained union activists, the expulsion of employees, not receiving their wages and bonuses, inhumane treatment of the Protection Department with drivers, hard working conditions and other issues.

According to reports from Tehran, a number of pro-regime thugs and Bassij and plainclothes agents entered the gold merchants Bazaar in Tehran to counter the striking merchants. These thugs attacked the closed shutters of a number of shops with metal bars chanting ‘death to the hypocrites’. (The term hypocrite, monafeq in Farsi is used by the Iranian regime to refer to the PMOI)
This attack was met with the reaction of a number of the merchant which led to clashes between the merchants and thugs. According to reports, this clash occurred at 2 pm when a Bassiji who attacked the closed shutters of shop was beaten up by merchants and was then taken to the hospital.
This report also says that the fabric merchants’ bazaar was also half closed and it was announced that other merchants intend to join the strike.
Qom gold merchants go on strike

In protest to raised taxes, Qom gold sellers, especially in the Tala Mall, went on strike yesterday and closed their shops and did not open their shops today. This is while Khamenei is to make a trip to Qom next week. There were a large amount of plainclothes agents around the closed shops which made is impossible to take pictures of the strike. According to reports, the gold seller will continue their strike tomorrow.

On Saturday there was a meeting between the heads of Gold unions of all the country with tax department authorities. Goal of this meeting was to make an agreement in implementing tax rule on gained profit. But this meeting ended without any results due to continuous protests by union activists and they declared that this rule should not be implemented.
After this unsuccessful meeting this morning, there was going to be another meeting that afternoon in the office of secretary general of tax organization. But two hours to this second meeting, union authorities declared that they are not going to take part in the meeting and they prefer to follow their requests by continuation of closing their shops. Assassinated doctor had links to Kahrizak scandal Sept. 28, 2010
A website which belongs to the minority faction of the Iranian regime shed light on the fact that Dr. Abdolreza Soudbakhsh who was recently assassinated was linked to the Kahrizak detention center torture case and intended to leave Iran one day before his assassination.
This website wrote: “Dr. Abdolreza Soudbakhsh, a Tehran University assistant professor was one of the doctors seeing to the cases of the Kahrizak Detention Center and prisoners who were suffering from infections in the urinary tract or damaged reproductive systems. Security officials had ordered that he had to officially announce that all the prisoners who came to him for treatment had meningitis”.
According to this website, ‘Abdolreza Soudbakhsh was shot one day before leaving Iran to go abroad’.
In this way, Soudbakhsh was the second medic who was killed over the Kahrizak Prison scandal. Soudbakhsh was informed of the medical files of all those killed in Kahrizak. He was also the specialist who checked all the prisoners who were sexually abused or raped and had special information in this regard.
Soudbakhsh, who had recently felt that he was in danger because of the increased pressure by regime forces, sent his family abroad a few days before his assassination. He had a ticket to leave Iran on September 22. He was fatally shot outside his clinic in the Keshavarz Blvd. in Tehran.
The two main doctors who had checked and treated Kahrizak Prisoners are now dead and there is still no sign of a finalized sentence for those linked to these crimes and the Kahrizak Detention Center culprits. The assassination of Dr. Soudbakhsh shows that the main elements of Kahrizak are still alive and active.

Political prisoner Arjang Davoudi who is detained in Rajayi Shahr (Gohardasht) Prison in Karaj wrote a report on the narcotics gangs in prison and their links to prison officials.
(This letter reads in part):
It has been some time now that the number of prisoners in Rajayi Shahr Prison has passed the line of 5,000 and at least 4,500 of these prisoner use narcotics. If we say that from this number 1,500 are recreational drug users and we will not include them in our calculations, this means that there are at least one thousand professional drug users in this prison.
If we consider that three people only use one gram of narcotics a day this means that at least one thousand grams are used daily in this prison and because crack (kind of chemical narcotic) is used the most because it is cheap, we will use crack in our calculations.
One gram of crack is at most 8,000 tomans outside of prison.
One gram of crack is at least 60,000 tomans inside of prison.
If we say that drug dealers in prison get 12,000 tomans for every gram, every gram of crack will cost at least a total of 20 thousand tomans for those who import the drugs into prison. Therefore the leftovers of this amount will be 40,000 tomans for every gram and because the daily use of crack in prison is 1000 grams, the daily proceeds of narcotics amounts to 40 million tomans (about $40,000). This means that entering only one kilogram of crack in prison amounts to a 1.2 billion toman (about 1.2 million dollar) trade in one month.
The violent and somewhat accurate inspections and body searches of prisoner’s families on visiting days and also the inspections of prisoners who have been sent to court which is carried out in several stages are all to prevent the import of narcotics to prison outside of the narcotics network to keep this million dollar trade under the control and in the grasp (of prison officials) …
The notorious head of Rajayi Shahr Prison, Ali Haji Kazem, is getting the most profits from all of this and after Karaj turns into a province which will see him become the General Manager of the Alborz Province Prisons, he will make even more money because he will get the profits from all other prisons in the province.
Unfortunately, we see that regime elements pocket millions of dollars while many people are desperate for a piece of bread.

The state-run Mehr News Agency quoted a specialist named Hassan Beheshti over Ahmadinejad’s proposition for the formation of a fact finding committee to see to the September 11 attacks and wrote: “I wish this proposition was not brought up by Ahmadinejad because when such a proposition is submitted by the president of a country, it has a legal meaning for that country”.
On Ahmadinejad’s plan for nuclear disarmament he said, “In my opinion, the proposition of the disarmament of nuclear weapons in New York was an unpractical suggestion because this cannot be done all at once and measures have to be taken before this can be done”.
This regime specialist stressed that Ahmadinejad’s trip was ineffective and said, “For example instead of having 30 visits with other heads of countries, one can have only 3 effective visits that have a positive effect for the national interest of the country”.
A website affiliated with the minority faction of Iran also attacked Ahmadinejad’s proposition regarding 9\11 and wrote, “Instead of September 11, it is better that a fact finding committee be formed for the incidents at the Tehran university dormitories” in 2009.

In the first news conference of the spokesman of the judiciary, Mohsen Ejeyi answered questions from reporters.
The first question in this news conference was about the case of Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani and the spokesman of the judiciary was asked to give more explanations regarding this case and its current state. The reporter asking the question also said that the president said that the issue of stoning was never brought up in this case.
Mohsen Ejeyi stressed on the independence of judges in issuing sentences and said, “We will never back down from Islamic laws and divine values because of the pressure of those who are in the first place for violating human rights today and want us not to implement the law”…
“In the case of Mrs. Sakineh Mohammadi Ashtiani such a sentence (stoning) has been issued; but it has to go through its procedure. The preceding sentence for this lady is retribution because retribution is the right of the people. Judiciary and security officials, have increased the project of putting mental pressures on prisoners by diffusing news of remission and forgiveness among the prisoners, officials and investigators are asking the prisoners to write against the leaders of green revolution and some of political prisoners and gather news for officials, so that they get their possible freedom or remission. One of the requests of investigators from some of the prisoners is to confess that there has not been any cheating in the tenth presidential elections.

Zia-Eddin Nabavi, a student activist who was transferred to the Karoun Prison in Ahwaz in the last few days is in an unsuitable condition.
Zia Nabavi was severely beaten on arrival in this prison and was kept in a solitary cell for 48 hours.
According to reports, he is currently in the security cellblock of this prison. The food and hygiene conditions in the Ahwaz Prison are poor.
The spokesman of the Council in Defense of the Right to Education was only given “one breakfast and one dinner and was allowed to use the restroom only once” in the first two days of his incarceration.
There is only “one working bathroom and shower in the security cellblock and the cellblock is extremely hot and lacks ventilation. Prisoners do not have enough water”.
Nabavi who has been expelled from university was arrested on June 15, 2009 and was initially sentenced to 15 years of prison.
A court of review lowered his prison term to 10 years of prison to be served in Izeh Prison which was later changed to the Karoun Prison in Ahwaz.
Jailed lawyer not allowed to attend father’s funeral Sep. 27, 2010
Despite efforts by Nasrin Sutodeh’s family for her to attend a mourning ceremony for her father, who passed away two days ago, security and judicial officials seeing to her case refused to grant this lawyer a leave from prison.
Nasrin Sutodeh who has been detained for about a month was also not allowed to attend her father’s funeral and now despite the fact that her family paid the announced amount of bail, made legal follow ups on this issue and talked with security and judicial authorities seeing to her case, in the end she was not granted a leave.

Sediq Amjadi, a labor activist in the city of Sanandaj was made unemployed by the public places department in this city.
Amjadi who worked as a taxi driver before being fired was arrested in 2007 for participating in a Labor Day ceremony. He was sentenced to three months of prison and 10 lashes.
