Pressure brakes down laborers in Tabriz
Tabriz, April 18, 2010
Some factories in Tabriz have started firing their laborers due to financial problems, mismanagement and being indebted to banks or contractors. Some of these factories are Motojan, Tractor Manufacturing and Match-Making factories.
For example Tractor Manufacturing Factory which is going broke owes about 40 million tomans to other contractors such as those that build parts for it. The reason is mismanagement, lack of assets and import of foreign tractors.
These imported tractors have better quality so nobody buys the ones that are produced domestically. More over formerly with the help of government manufacturing of one tractor cost ten million tomans but now the cost is 27 million tomans.
So the factory has no income and the management has to fire the laborers or in the best situation cut their rights.
During the process of handing over this factory to private section this factory is now handled by two enterprises; Seipa and Mehr Iran (Bassij Loaning). The government owes 50 milliard tomans to this factory.
Laborers activists say that if the current mismanagement continues the life of 3200 laborers of this factory will be in jeopardy.
